Woohoo, Frijns on the podium! Is there any indication that he will continue in DTM besides his FE duties by the way?

That was pretty great. I probably should give DTM a proper chance next season instead of just tuning in those 3 times a year when there's no other racing happening and I'm bored.

Do it. I highly encourage it. It's been really great these past years and I think it's going to get even better with Berger at the front, steering it towards a more International friendly vibe. Aston Martin coming up next year, Super GT tie up, half of the races outside Germany. This is just great.
Also the commentators are absolutely stellar. Ricky Collard is delightful.

Di Resta choked and is pretty much out of the CC in P10. Now all we need is Rast overtaking Wittmann and someone getting in front of Paffet

Wittman ahead of Rast and Paffett in quali. So if Rast wins I reckon Paffett needs P4 for the title.
Rast win + Paffett P4 means Paffett wins by 1 point. Paffett P5 means Rast wins by 1 point.

You sure? I didn't check, but the commentator said Rast P1 and Paffet P4 means there equal on points but Rast would come out on top because he has more wins.

Paffett 240
Di Resta 233
Rast 226
Rast got 2 points for qualifying 2nd and Paffett 1 point for 3rd.

Crazy close. When is the race start?

Standings should be:
Paffett 240
Di Resta 233
Rast 226
Rast got 2 points for qualifying 2nd and Paffett 1 point for 3rd.
I see, I remember now that Gary was back in P4 when the commentator said that. Make sense.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone go on such a winning streak in DTM like this from Rast!
Congrats to Gary, looking forward to seeing how he gets on in Formula E

I am however, very happy that Paffett won it. Thirteen years between titles I make it? Absolute class act. Looking forward to seeing him in Formula E. I remember seeing Gary Paffett testing McLarens at the turn of the millennium (must have been for Autosport award?), and he's still here winning titles and about to embark on a Formula E career at 38. Top guy.

Rast in DTM a bit like Mick in F3, but without the implosion of his British rival...

Considering, where Audi was in the beginning of the season and where all the other Audis ended up overall, you could consider Rast's performance absolutely phenomenal. But obviously Paffett winning after a break of 13 years is also quite a story.

I just saw an interview with the track marshall who was hit by Auer in the pitlane at the Hungaroring. He lost his left foot unfortunately. The doctors tried to save it, but they had to amputate it after a week of treatment. But it's nice to see how positive and calm he remained after all that, he was back in the simulator a month after the incident and now he drives in the real world too. I wonder if Auer and Mercedes was informed about this...
