Didn't it used to be 10 picks?
I think you’re right. I had it in my head as double picks for double points.

"It's like going shopping but not being able to buy anything, but still having to bring home the caviar."
Another EXCELLENT comparison from the broadcast team.
A couple more triple-A grade Cheeverisms to add to the pile:

Fun day at the track. Race was okay in person. Weather was nice. Warm with a little breeze. Was doing a rain dance in the stands but it never appeared forcefully. We had a few drops hit us. Went to fantastic Mexican restaurant by track La Conchitas. If you park outside Turn 4 worth the walk.
As soon as first corner was over with turned to my friend and said Dixon will be top 5 by the end. I did not know he was fastest in the morning. It seemed once the 5th lap passed everyone just settled into a fuel strategy. no one seemed to be closing or opening gaps. The reds were a really fast as you saw. From the track, the difference was easily visible in brake zones.
I haven't been able to get through my pictures yet to see if they are any good. Conor Daly's garage was open and the only thing in there was a tub. Don't know if it was his car or just something IndyCar or Dallara had there.
Found out that the cockpit windscreen is poured into a mold and then bent. Also that the turbo inlet for Honda and Chevy are different. So there is variation in the body kits

So, just before the 500, and the first time running a "different" version of the new kit, where does everyone stand on the change for this year?
Personally, I think it might not only be the single best year-on-year change to happen to Indycar, it might just be the best year-on-year change initiated in any series, ever. I can't think of any other series that made one change that had such an overwhelmingly positive effect.
Is that fanboy bosterism? I don't care. The only thing these cars need at this point is another 120hp or so.

Indycar's best year-on-year change was going from "No Nigel Mansell" in 1992 to "Nigel Mansell" in 1993!
This year is the best Indycar's been this side of the millennium. I'm not entirely sure what the Indy 500 will be like, as for all the just criticisms of the aero kit mini-era, it did produce three superb races at the Brickyard. By contrast the 2013 and 2014 editions were very much follow-the-leader until the last 10 laps.

And that one wild-ass race at Fontana that I’ll probably be talking about until my dying breath. They weren’t bad on superspeedways, those cars.Indycar's best year-on-year change was going from "No Nigel Mansell" in 1992 to "Nigel Mansell" in 1993!

Annoyingly I put the race on record last night (before spending the evening drinking 10% cider... that should explain exactly how I’m feeling this morning) and my BT box decided that it wasn’t in the mood and didn’t bother, so I’ll have to wait until the race is uploaded on YouTube.
I got on the first page of the results for the first time this season though!!
I had something similar with my BT box. I was home towards the end of the race, I check and my box is recording it on two BT sport channels, I go to watch it and it's not recorded a thing. So I set it to record the replay the following evening, they cut out the ten laps between laps 20 and 10 to go with no explanation. Suddenly rain has appeared from nowhere, Rossi is no longer climbing all over Wickens, and first and second have moved 5 seconds further down the road.

I went to a couple Fontana races and the speed was INSANE. Average practice laps in the high 230s. Race laps I don't know, it just seemed like cars were coming by faster than you could keep track of them.

After a week away from home, it was lovely to be able to watch the race just now. It was a good race! It wasn't a classic, but there was good racing throughout the pack. The new car proved to be especially well-suited to the road course.
