The people trying to downplay 2014 should instead post one of those articles from before then about how Vettel was going to struggle in the new car, and why.

I think I see maybe one person downplaying it and loads trying to put it into context and a group acting as if those first 2 are doing the exact same thing.

It wasn't fair and square because Seb wasn't on top of his game? lol. With that reasoning we could trot out that excuse for every teammate battle. If Dan beats Max it wasn't fair because Max wasn't on top his game. If Max beats Dan it wasn't fair because Dan wasn't on top of his game.

If there was an interview where either driver explained his struggles, sure. But there isn't. Both Max and Daniel are on it at the moment. Max obviously wasn't in the beginning of the season.

I am by no means a Vettel fan, but it's clear to everyone that he struggled with the 2014 regs.

I'm not going to try to explain myself further. Guess we'll ave to agree to disagree.

I don't think you even understand the term 'on top of his game'. It simply means that they are not performing as well as they can. Not performing as well as you can does not mean a contest between drivers is not fair and square.
