I have a ticket for the Festival of Speed Sunday which I will be unable to use.  I planned to sell it on eBay but I understand that this is contrary to good woods terms and conditions.  I have been told that Goodwood may invalidate tickets sold in this way.   There is a serial number on the tickets and they are scanned on entry so they could do this.  I don't want to make a profit but I would hate for a buyer to be turned away.  Does anybody have any relevant experience?

Just to complicate matters, Roger, Ebay has banned the sale of most events tickets on its main site. However, the ban is flouted all the time (there are plenty of Goodwood tickets currently for sale), and it just seems to be a matter of whether the Ebay 'traffic wardens' get round to looking at your particular listing. Ebay wants you to use Stubhub, its ticket resale site. I have no experience of Stubhub but have read mixed reviews.

There is a 2018 FOS thread on Racing Comments. I wonder whether your best bet, apart from Ebay, is to post here on RC and For Sale and Want. Together with your TNF post you should find a buyer.  Good luck!

Yes Ebay is a funny (or not so funny) place these days - great as a buyer but awful as a seller.  I used to sell antique clock parts and barometers on the site but gave up - non payers, buyers claiming the item had not turned up or was damaged etc... The final straw was when eBay removed an advert I had placed for an aneroid barometer in their mistaken belief that it must contain mercury...

Avoid Stub hub also.  Either FS or W on this site as JW suggests or an alternative - and I predict it will go in minutes - is Pistonheads which has a thread dedicated to Goodwood tickets either for sale or wanted.  If you don't fancy signing up to the site let me know and I could advertise it on your behalf.   Cheers.

I've heard that Goodwood was watching ticket re-sales ... with scanning, it's easier to police. The buyer and the seller can be blocked ...

I was in a similar situation for Race Retro, but instead of trying to resell my tickets, I gave them away to people I knew ... it was easier, and eliminated any possible hassles down the road.

I am looking for two weekend-tickets for the Festival of Speed 2018 - General admission adults. Perhaps anyone can help, please?

Kind regards from Austria

Alfred

Thanks to those who replied. I emailed Goodwoodn they said that the recommended method for selling tickets is via their forum. I think it’s only open to GRRC members and there seemed to be a lot more buyers than sellers.
