No ... he is not rapping, he is singing ... he is featured on a song by popular singer... so it's a legit pop music debut ... and he actually does a very decent job.

https://news.sky.com...-track-11419673

He has been working on his music for years but racing champion Lewis Hamilton is reported to have finally made his singing debut on Christina Aguilera's new album.

The Formula One star recorded a track with the American singer for her eighth album Liberation.

Using the pseudonym 'XNDA' the 33-year-old duets with Aguilera on Pipe.

He is also credited as a writer on the track, which includes the raunchy lyrics: "You know I've got a wild imagination/ I like to play the Doctor Operation/ Spread it on the bed like a patient/ I'm about to show you domination."

skynews-christina-aguilera_4347869.jpg?b
Image:Aguilera and Hamilton at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in April, 2018

Aguilera has said in interviews that she was sworn to secrecy about the real identity of XNDA, but had been "dying for everyone to find out as they're definitely multi-talented"

....

Here is the song ... his verse is at about 2:40

Now ... dont anyone say that this is not sufficiently F1 related - we have all kinds of things with their own threads on here ... plus, if we are not careful we will turn into a nostalgia forum discussing seasons from a decade ago and how good was KR when he was at Macca, again more than 10 years ago .... so lets just have some fun with this not too serious news.

Indistinguishable from pretty much every guest singer I have heard on similar tracks, good job indeed (assuming not autotuned...).

Speaking as a professional music producer, while sounding pretty good. It sounding good has nothing to do with Lewis's musical skills or lack thereof. They've autotuned and melodyned the **** out of it so even if he didn't hit a single note it would have sounded like this. And listening to how stretched it sounds in some parts, he's missed quite a few.

It's also the reason I hate most pop music nowadays. Any artist can fake it when they have a skilled producer producing their songs.

Bubblegum, but no worse than the other bubblegum.

Will not make it onto my playlist, but he is not the only one.

If he has fun doing it, more power to him.

This may be my fault.

Nicole discovered him while we were playing the Canada 2007 race on the big screen when the PCD were rehearsing their number with Xtina.

Her Highness was perturbed and wanted payback.

Good on him. We can all have hobbies we like to engage in. As long as it doesn't hurt his on-track performance in racing, it's fine I'd say.

It is autotuned.

Only after it is melodyned first. Way of the world.

Does this make Melodyne the music equivalent of endless tarmac runoff?

Many people are just jealous and love to hate. I really like what Hamilton is doing, it takes balls to try different things. Maybe he can produce something that can replace the new f1 intro music because that's truely awful.

To autotune and make it sound that good, you still need something to autotune.

Autotune only goes so far before you end up in the heavily processed world of T-pain.

There's a reason pop music sounds the same - everything is processed.

I highly doubt Christina would turn her chair on "The Voice" based on she hasn't for far better singers. "The Voice" is kinda like "Britain has Talent" only you hear the voice the persona is a distant third.  :smoking:

It's surely the wrong board game to wed to the concept of domination. Monopoly I could understand, or backgammon. If anything that little **** with the buzzing nose every time you put the tweezers in minutely the wrong place is dominating you.

I've not actually listened to it, because I am simply not interested in this sort of music, but how can you two tell that it has been fiddled around so much ? (not trying to argue, I just want to know how you two know.) It is not inconceivable that Lewis has a decent singing voice. If he did, would they still feel the need to mess around with it so much ? I'm assuming that Christina has a good voice, do they still autotuned her voice on the recordings ?

And if he wants to do this sort of thing, then it is up to him really. Nobody is forcing me to listen to it, well not that much anyhow. Luckily, I get to choose what music I listen to.
