Front coming thru tonight will bring down the humidity a little...  was brutal today.    Spend my winters in AZ and no race at PHX next spring, but going to miss the Newton race as my son and I are headed to the Porsche Parade in the Ozarks.

Should be a good show with the new bodywork!

And Silverstone in the morning!!

Of all the vegetables that could sponsor an Indycar race it’s probably the most appropriate.

Was this race at such a UK friendly time in the past? I seem to recall this being a 'hope the DVR got it and watch over Sunday breakfast' kinda race.

I think last year was the first time it was a Sunday afternoon in the states? As you say before it was a night race.

Iowa state map.

What's up with Tama messing up the nice orderly rows of counties?

Anyway, short ovals? Drama is pretty much guaranteed.

It's been a while since Rossi has won. Time for that to change!

Sweet corn is a specific type of corn. While they are all maize, there are a few different types.

I don't know when or why, but 'corn' became the general descriptor for cereal crops in the UK. People will point to a field of wheat/barley/oats and call it corn.

Wikipedia tells me there’s seven different types of corn:

Sweet corn, dent corn, flint corn, pod corn, popcorn, flour corn and Butterball adverts with RHR and Michael in them.

Looking at Ov's tarot...

Somebody who's not having a good year...

Will have a good result...

Because he (or his team) will take a big risk...

For which nobody will know the outcome untill the end?

So...

A fuel mileage race with Hinch as the winner?

Also, why are there two Des Moines?

I believe the one with Burlington nearby is designating the county of Des Moines if you look at font size and type.

What's the missing of the landlord got to do with the pub closing? Every time a pub stays closed on a Saturday night, an angel loses it's wings.

Surely the landlord could ask somebody else to run the place for the day? With such high profits at stake, even I'd be tempted to pass up an F1 freebie on Saturday if I was a pub landlord!
