Feel gutted for dan. 2nd place was his to lose half way during the race..

Max what a dominant performance. He lapped bottas and was just behind hamilton and had a pitstop in hand against ricciardo. Maxico for the 2nd year in a row..

Maybe another driver will also step up but otherwise we all better get used to the Dutch national anthem!

Just a great drive from max. So gutted for Daniel should be a 1-2 but Renault can just not make an engine package that's not breaking down.

The only thing Daniel could take away from this weekend is his pole position trophy and hoping that Renault dus not ****up next year engine.

Monster race from Max. He's a very special driver. Mr Mexico now.

I'm not going to comment on Dan right now.

All the post race interviews.

Dan starts around 14 mins 34 secs.

Poor guy he sounds heartbroken. Noone deserves this amount of bad luck. Wow he actually said the car is cursed and he doesn't feel like turning up anymore this year. I hope he manages to get through ok until the end of the year and then have a good break and recharge.

Just home and finished watching .

Incredible start from Max and pretty much controlling and easy going from there.

Dan´s start was horrible for some reason and brought him in the pack but in the end he deserved that second place and I cant believe bad luck has struck him yet again .

I thought max misfortune last year was crazy but it was nothing compared to this .

Probably just speculation. But when the steering goes, that is usually hydraulics.

Congrats to Max. I'm not a fan, but the fact that he gave an interview immediately after yesterday's disappointment impressed me greatly. Glad to see him win today.

It's gutting for Daniel. He's copped an amazingly bad run, its a sad way for his Red Bull days to be ending. Still with the move to Renault, things may get worse before they get better yet. I hope he's prepared to fight and be patient... even then where are the guarantees? He'd be wise to have a chat with Fernando and Jacques, two men who know what endless gut wrenching, motivation sapping disappointment feels like.

He has a hard road ahead... I hope he's ready for it.

Verstappen has been an absolute monster. Today he was brilliant and if by some miracle Honda make a giant leap next season, he's the man with the capability of dethroning Hamilton. What box office stuff that would be 👍

Yeah absolutely gutting but maybe things might be better at Renault in regards to actually racing and finishing off races. Can't see him having this many DNF's its ridiculous. Even the Renault factory team are having nowhere near this many failures. Its beyond a joke that its usually always Dan's side of the garage with the problems.  I just can't believe this is all bad luck. Seriously who has had this much bad luck? Anything has to be better than this even if he won't be battling for wins next year at least he will get to battle and won't have to drive Chitty Chitty bang bang round every track.

True... you wouldn't think it can get worse in terms of reliability. I just worry a touch though that being mired in the midfield, with a total lack of pace and no chance of leading a race, fighting for a podium etc... may get to him very quickly.

It's all good and well to play the long game... but there are no guarantees and if progress is slow, Ricciardo is going to need to dig deep. Very deep.

I think what hurtMaithat he'usually quicker but the pole keep slipping away. I'm sure he wants to beat Vettel as the youngest pole sitter

That's nearly done and dusted. He has to get pole in the next two races otherwise it's over.

Ricciardo post-race: "Helpless I think is the best word" [...] "The car...I'll let Gasly drive it, I'm done with 'em"

Does this mean we will see Sebastien Buemi driving Gasly's Toro Rosso next race?

Yeah it sucks because the laat 2 races aren’t typical races to look out for for RBR, if the last race was like Mexico or Monaco, where you know the car is going to be good it is something to look forward too, but Dan doesn’t have that now.

On sidenote: Kimi had a nearly perfect press conference until 9:45 and I think his answer to the second question he got was probably the longest time I ever heard him talk ever.

How many of Dans DNFs are because of engine vs car? He says my car broke down when it is clear to me it is the engine

According to amus it was a clutch bearing and he was feeling it from lap 10.

I dunno, the clutch is usually not one to give such smoke in my memory, but what do I know of F1 clutches..

The clutch bearing made it lose hydraulic pressure?

Could have impacted the start if thats the case. He was fairly critical of the cars launch.

Post race radio from Max:

Horner: "Don't get set on fire this year"

Btw, you can hear that everyone feels for Ricciardo, even Max's engineer is not as outspoken as usual.

I think also Red Bull are actually starting to get used to winning again, so it becomes a touch more routine. Back in 2014 it felt every win was a robbery, but now they seem confident they can actually win on pace.

Max is the real deal. Amazing race, absolute domination. But the Red Bull trully was the best car by a margin at Mexico, that chassis is a monster. Ricciardo.... what else to say? 8 DNF in  a single season? Come on! Still managed an epic Pole at least and I'm hoping for a final podium  in RB colours for him.

Even with the horrid last part of the season Daniel has, he has more points than the whole Renault team put together. And almost the same amount of points as Renault and McLaren together.

Lady luck is playing a cruel game with Daniel. Giving him a high on Saturday and take it away on Sunday. But two wins and two poles isn't a bad season.

Yep, it's horrible luck with reliability, but at least he got a few wins which he would have no chance with at Renault.

But that's the problem it has been a good season from him till Monaco. Now this year would always be remembered as could be or worse season. But he only lost 2 or 3 podiums.

The podiums are the wins, he didn't have a 2/3rd place iirc?
