The Swiss edition of the ePrix may be held in a different city from this year's round in Zürich, according to e-racing365. Bern is favorite.

Shame they can't realistically revive Bremgarten!

Even so, it was a mighty impressive achievement to bring racing back to Switzerland, but the circuit in Zürich was...not the best...shall we say. I'm cautiously pleased to her other alternatives are being considered, both in Zürich and elsewhere.

I quite liked the circuit in Zurich tbh, but it's always exciting to discover new locations & tracks each season!

Looking forward to see some Season 5 layouts: i'm very curious to see if they are indeed going for faster city tracks, with less micky mouse chicanes & sections given the faster GEN 2.

I hope they modify Rome slightly. I LOVED the first 3/4 of the track, but the final bit was too tight and slow for even the old cars.

Most of the venues don't necessarily need a complete change, they just need tweaking or extending here or there. Or a bit of a rethink on the same theme.

I agree, Rome was probably the best circuit of the season for 3/4 but that final section of the track is way too tight & twisty.

Unfortunately, i fear there are some architectural barriers there that can't be avoided.

Only 12 kilos overall tho, the increased power will more than compensate that.

Isn't the Halo and it's mounting points all worth about 10-12 kilos? We know the Gen2 was originally designed without a Halo, so the original design weight was almost certainly to be the same as Gen1.

The increase in weight is nothing considering how much heavier the new battery is by itself. They must have done some serious weight saving elsewhere.

Basic maths with the official figures...

The battery getting heavier, going from 320kg to 385 kg. That's about 20% more.

The energy capacity is going from 28kWh to 54kWh, an increase just shy of double.

That means the energy density by mass goes from about 87.5Wh/kg to 140Wh/kg - a 60% increase.

Not exactly new news but still, being re-iterated here. Powertrain is developed by the same engineering team as BMWs road division - the motor is twice the power, third of the volume andhalf the weight of the motor in the BMW i3. Good heavens.

Well BMW did praise them in that event, bring on the Andretti team director and the name Andretti is still in the official title of the team.

Looks rather messy and random to me, not a fan. I feel that with such a busy car design the liveries have to be either really simple or completely follow the shapes.

Nicely coloured livery but I'm not a massive fan of the asymmetric design. Does indeed feel like the designers have just ignored the shape of the car entirely. But then again I've seen much less appealing liveries.

I like the Nissan livery.

Regarding the BMW livery, good news is there are now two less greeny blue cars on the grid.

Come on now, the i3 motor is designed to run for 100,000+ miles.  It is a road car for everyday use.  This is for racing and only needs to last 100 miles before they junk it.  You wouldn't make the same comparison between road and race ICEs, would you?

I nearly added 'though being a BMW I don't think that would be the case' and now wish I had. It definitely had the wrong tone without it.
