Hi, I'm new to you forum and I am trying to trace any history to this handicap prize from 1963. I am a member of Moyboyz forum which is for collectors of Matchbox toys. One of our members bought this model with an inscription on it "SMC November Handicap Rally 1963 R Bishop" from a guy in the Northampton area. I have asked several Motor clubs starting with S to no avail so thought I would try your forum for help. Sorry not sure how to post a photo of trophy but it comes from The Matchbox models of yesteryear gift range and it is a chromed 1904 Spiker on a black ceramic pin tray/ashtray the model is 1/43scale

There's a gallery of pictures of the model on PicClick: https://picclick.co....2075242272.html
Shame it's missing the plastic insert which modelled the interior.
This is probably a red herring, but Motor Sport mentions a November Handicap run by the Lagonda Club in 1954 - also open to members of Alvis Owners, Bentley Drivers, A.C. Owners, Per Ardua and V.S.C.C.

They won’t be the only motor club who refer to themselves as ‘SMC’ though.

Hi Tim, I have contacted Stockport and waiting for a reply and other clubs that start with a S and were formed before 1963. One club is still looking into it for me. Hopefully someone will come up with an answer.
Thankyou for your help.
