Both MP drivers confirmed

I must say the F3 field looks more impressive talentwise this year

Raghunathan should provide some nice competition for Gelael. King on the other hand could be a title contender, but at this stage in his career even if he wins it will impress no one. Well, maybe except his mum.

King is probably on a hiding to nothing returning to F2 at this point in his career - but, BUT, Sam Bird was maybe in a similar position in 2013, did well and it's at very least contributed to a very good career he went on to have. If it hasn't worked out for King in Indycar, this might just be good for him.

Whilst true about Bird I think he had an advantage over King in a few ways, firstly more talent, secondly a better team and lastly he came back to the same car if i'm not mistaken whereas King hasn't raced the new one

Ive got a funny feeling De Vries will just destroy the field Vandoorne/Leclerc style. Weakest field of drivers I can remember though. Can’t pick out any future F1 prospects.

Schumacher will be in F1 in 2020, I'd bet at least a quid on it.

I don't think De Vries is good enough to crush the field, to be honest. People said that about Markelov 12 months ago and while I don't think this year's field is up with Russell/Norris/Albon, there's enough talent in there to ensure someone like De Vries doesn't dominate.

Well, that happens when you promote the top 3 of the field last year. And even then we have to wait to see if Norris, Russell and Albon will become F1 stars or not.

I think it's already too little too late for De Vries either way, so only Schumacher is probably a future F1 driver in this field.

But I don’t think there is any rookies that have had a dramatic ride through the ranks, or multiple series winners. And I don’t rate De Vries that much. He’s had plenty of time to show his quality. But i’ve just got a feeling he and ART will hook it up this year.

Schumacher will of course get to F1. But I don’t see him as a shining star.

I think it's hard to name a favourite for the title this year. It will probably be between de Vries and Sette Câmara. And maybe Schumacher. Even Delétraz? What about Callum Ilott? And surprise champion: Luca Ghiotto?!

can't remember a field this poor in F2 or GP2, it's sad... the FIA F3 field looks much stronger talent wise.

de Vries is obliged to win the title this year with his current experience and since he is driving for one of the 2 best teams, the team that won the driver title last year, anything less as the title would be a failure for the Dutchmen.
Mick Schumacher is lucky that he can make his debut in such a poor field and with Prema and with a team mate that won't provide any competition.

I expect Ghiotto and Camara to challenge for the title (alongside de Vries), my money is on Ghiotto winning the title: he is imho easily the most talented driver in this field.
Deletraz might be an outside bet: he has experience now and is in a good team, watch returnee Matsushita as well
Hubert (Arden hasn't performed in years though) and Ilott are talented as well but both are in their rookie season and not in a team that will normally challenge for the title (Charouz wasn't that bad last year though)

My money is on Camara. He was very close to Norris last year and now he is driving for an experienced team.

De Vries just isn't good enough. Last year he was in Leclerc's winning car, this year in Russell's. He is quick over 1 lap but keeps destroying his tyres and has weak racecraft. He doesn't seem to be learning. On paper, he's got to be the favorite, but last year he was the favorite also, and got beaten by a bunch of rookies.

Maybe Schumacher can surprise.

Are you describing Leclerc's title campaign? :stoned:

Yet he was hailed as the new Senna, despite having only Markelov & Rowland as (inconsistent) opponents during the season.
