So with our new champion crowned today, time to initiate another 2019 silly season discussion. Here are some of my thoughts:

Leaving

Drugovich departs for F3 or the MRTI scene.

Viscaal moves to F3, possibly with Campos or MP.

Das (and maybe Iorio) leaves to join Carlin's Indy Lights squad.

Siebert, Gore and Baltas depart for MRTI or other things.

Staying on

Lukas Dunner, Calan Williams and Aldo Festante remain for a second season.

Joining

Leonardo Lorandi joins RP for a full season.

Charles Weerts and Mick Wishofer (maybe Liam Lawson too if he doesn't go the MRTI route) join the series (not sure with which teams).

Other F4 names that could join - Federico Malvestiti, William Alatalo, Javier Gonzalez, Guillem Pujeu and Konsta Lappalainen.

Some other names from the FR2.0 and British F3 side of things.

Maybe the likes of Paavo Tonteri if Double R decide to go ahead with their plan to enter EF Open (which they planned to this year but didn't).

I think it's far too early in that case. Because no one really nows how many regional F3 series there will be. And that could definitly affect Euroformula Open as well.

Rumour is the F. Masters teams are going to jump ship to Euroformula. Would be good for the championship. I just hope they can get the BoP right.

Qualy results for race 1 here

Dunner on pole. The Piedrafita/Toyota engines seem still inferior.

This weekend at Spa RP Motorsport will return having switched to Spiess engines, CF Racing will be running two cars and Drivex will add a second car for Spanish F4 front runner Franco Colapinto with a Piedrafita engine (according to the entry list, Rui Andrade in the other Drivex car will run an HWA engine) So something tells me the BoP hasn't worked and teams are prefering the HWA and Spiess engines over the Piedrafita units.

After Spa qualy Sato P1 Tsunoda P2 , their cars both planted and perfect as per previous rounds and team mate Lawson still having major basic setup and handling problems, car just about undrivable apparently and as per previous rounds. I smell a big stinking moneyed rat and it’s name is Honda.

Oh what? Lawson beats Sato R1 on a dry drivers track like Pau by more than 18 secs and since then suddenly he’s 1.5s off the pace and his car is an oversteering POS. Pretty obvious to see that somethings not right

Are you a family member of his or something? To me, it looks like Lawson is overdriving the car a bit.

Slow last lap for everyone. At first I thought there was a problem for the leader, but I guess it was the track that was getting wetter.

Quick summary of race 2: Lawson made a good start from 5th. Pole sitter Marino Sato might have had a moment in Raidillon; he was quickly passed by Tsunoda and Lawson, the two Red Bull junior drivers, on the Kemmel Straight. Tsunoda led lap 1 but Lawson passed him on the Kemmel Straight on lap 2. Tsunoda then passed Lawson on the Kemmel Straight on lap 3. Lawson, however, tucked back into the slipstream of Tsunoda and tried to repass him on the outside into Les Combes. They were side-by-side entering the corner but neither of them would go any further than the tyre barrier. It was another race win for Marino Sato.

Family member ? If you cant see the difference in Sato and Tsunoda team mates cars versus lawsons handling then why are you bothering watching. Lawson has been given a dog. “overdriving “ ? Hello and absolutely , careers are at stake and money talks.

I'm only asking because you seem extremely biased towards him. If the kid wants a career in professional racing, talent and speed alone won't be enough. At some point, he should start using his head too. The sooner the better. The latest crash at Spa was another completely avoidable and unnecessary incident.

Yes, Im biased because i’m a kiwi and i’ve watched him get to this point against all odds imaginable. When he gets there he’s given substandard equipment. I rate Tsunoda very highly but his honda backed Japanese team mates have had zero issues with their cars and Lawson is clearly fighting his car every single lap of every single round, except the first, when he showed he was head and shoulders above the rest. Suddenly next round he’s given a dog and makes 5 or 6 places from the start every race and then has to defend guys that are way off line. Something has to give and youre right, he needs to learn how to deal with that - if , like you say , “using his head” means he lets them blast past then yes he needs to learn that. But you try doing that at 17 years old at Spa when youre about 2 seconds a lap faster in the wet than the leader in front of you and Billy Wizz coming from the back on wets making up 3 secs a lap. If hes given equal equipment you wont see him for dust and i think hondas billions know that. We’ll see but i take your point, the DNFs have to stop.
