Hi everybody,

I am an avid grand prix 1:43 model collector. I am having some difficulties with Farina’s Alfetta 158 nose colours at the 1950 Italian GP.

The Brumm model shows it as being a red and white chequered strip around the nose, but this brand is not very trustable.

The decals I have bought show a blue and white chequered strip.

All the photographs I can find on the net are black and white.

Can anyone help?

Additionally, the Brumm model has Pirelli signs on the wheels, which do not seem to exist in the photograph where the ca ris being pulled by the mechanics.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Nice try StanBarrett2. That seems to prove the blue/white option. However, the bigger white shape in the top of the front does not exist in the photographs of the car at that particular GP.

It may be that Farina used the nose colours as you show in some other GP that year, but the images prove that that particular painting was not used in Italy. It still can be red, as in the Brumm model.

Let's see if somebody else comes up with more information. Thanks a lot, nevertheless.  :)

The Italian GP was probably not a 'hot' race, as it says below, the radiator was blanked off for cooler races.

I'll be more careful posting info next time, if we are going to get 'hot-arsed'

Dark Blue and white nose band for Farina surely...  Study the tone difference between the overall red livery and the dark segments of the band in the monochrome shots above.
