Vettel is cementing his place alongside JV and Damon Hill.

That's a huge overreaction. He had a terrible season this year due to mistakes, but this isn't the norm for him and his performance hasn't dropped, nor did he lose his skill. He needs to put his head back  on his shoulders during the winter break and then he will be back in top form imo.

But then what about last year? If it was just this year, I might agree with you, but this is two seasons in a row now here Vettel's errors have taken him out of title contention.

A season of 20 races - what chances has he got of a championship if he can’t keep it consistent?

People being overly harsh on Vettel. He’s won 13 races for Ferrari, as well as the RBR and STR wins. People posting like he’s a fisichella or something.

Well he is no Fisichella, but if he fails to win that championship with Ferrari and even get beaten by Leclerc, then people will definitely look down upon his 4 championship and say that he won most of those only because he had such dominating car under him and only average team-mate (Webber) to challenge him....people will look him to be one of the "worst" drivers who won multiple championships, and even though that doesnt make him bad or average driver, neither will people go and rate him among the top 10 drivers where you would  think 4x champion would belong.

Not to mention 2016 and 2014...

Enough with the hijacking.

(This is also why in the end driver threads got the axe. Too many people grabbing the mic to hijack the subject by explaining instead.why they think a driver sucks or is a bad person. )
