Don't know, but this reminds me of the "comedian" Rod Hull and his roof-related demise...

I wondered about this when I read about the unfortunate Mr Easton's horrible experience his morning. The only motor sporting Ron Easton I recall was chief photographer for 'Autocar' - and he was a pretty good one too, if a somewhat dour personality...

The Ron Easton I knew well at 'Autocar' in the mid-1960s was that journal's chief photographer at the time, particularly on F1 and other major races. At the time he would have been in his mid to late forties, so this ties up perfectly with yesterday's reports that it was a 102-year-old man who met with such a distressing accident in Devon. Even so the Ron Easton I knew was not, most emphatically not, a racing driver - though the F1 connection was obvious.

I met RE in pursuit of images for one of the earlier In Camera books about 11/12 years ago and he was a tad serious but as you note the images were very good.
