I don’t know about you guys... but I sense overall improvement in these parts over the past couple years. It seems many of us thought the checkered was to come any day back then.

Many here were discussing perceived, imminent demise back then: low post counts, seemingly nastier overall tempo, rumors of closure.
Doug is right in context; but I for one hope enough ad sales, site hits, and participation are enough to stay on the rails. Our best insurance is active participation, in my view.

At the time it certainly had the feeling that the admins may have been trying to shoo people away by making things difficult.
