....don't know if any of you would be interested, but this afternoon at around 3.30pm UK time, I will be on Brooklands Radio (nothing to do with the track!) talking about the book. RTH tells me there is an online listening capability here https://www.brooklan...11vDJnWJipxMseQ so even in Australia you can hear me!

Apparently I'll be on for about 15 minutes. All the best

That was great, Gary. Very enjoyable.

Glad you enjoyed it Don, it was good fun. The presenter enjoyed it so much too, he said he let me have an extra 5 minutes on air!

A friend of mine has uploaded a recording of my radio debut yesterday afternoon, not sure how long the link will be active:

He is too modest to tell you  but he gave a highly professional interview giving the host almost nothing to do , very impressive, book sales going well and   a part 2 volume is under construction.

Richard nails it. It was a very impressive performance, one that moved right along and allowed the host to simply drop in at the appropriate moments, which Gary opened up for him. When it ran over the allotted 15 minutes, I was not at all surprised, it was going so well even the host seemed more than a bit happy with the way it was going. I think it is safe to suggest that many of us who have done media interviews could only wish we could do a tenth of what Gary did. My first thoughts when it ended were: Wow, I bet that the host was really happy with Gary! Gawd, I need to have Gary take my place whenever I have to do this.

Well thanks indeed for those glowing remarks! I must admit I did enjoy it. Afterwards James told me that he let me have an extra 5 minutes as it was going so well!

So, apparently we've exceeded the bandwidth on my mates link to the recording of the interview, so if there's anyone left who would like to hear it, it's now permantly housed on the book website, here http://www.shutteran...r_and_speed.ogg

Thanks for the kind comments lads. James is going to start doing a motorsport podcast and he's asked me to come in with him as his 'archive guy'...

I attended the Stoke Row and Nuffield Motorsport Day (courtesy of Cirrus), managed to sell a few copies of the book, including one each to these two. Dave Brodie and Howden Ganley!

hi Michael, thanks for asking about Volume 2. Things ARE progressing, just not as fast as this time last year unfortunately. I had intended to get it ready for this Christmas, but I've missed that deadline by a country mile I'm afraid!  So we are looking at the New Year for it. In the meantime I am putting the finishing touches to my Lotus 72 documentary, which will  be available in the next few weeks. All the best.
