I'm sure you have a deeper numerology reason for choosing that number (=9).  Mine's simpler than that.  I started following F1 in 1982 as a kid, and numbers up to 36 were used (including 35/36 by my favorite team Toleman-Hart) - at the time imagining I would join the grid, my number by default was 37, and thus 37 has become MY number ever since, for all purposes.  Was glad to see JM Lopez race with it in FE.

Yeah, I'd only choose numbers that add to 3, 6 or 9. 7 is my overall expression number, and it's been near to me my whole life. And it's the number of one of my favorite Tarot cards: The Chariot. That would be amazing if used in a Racing context.

2 is a feminine number of sharing, and is also the number of one of myother  fav cards: The High Priestess.

So, Expression ( 7 ), Sharing ( 2 ); giving back to the world through my passion. Masculine and Feminine in union.

The main reason though is that I have my Sun at 7 degrees Virgo and in my 2nd House. Also, I have a prominent 72 degree angle aspect between my Virgo Mars and Cancer Jupiter natal placements. That's called a Quintile: one fifth ( Martian number ) of a full 360 circle. That thing would mirror success if expressed outwardly.

 

The main Motorsport reason is that I have a soft spot for the history behind #27. But I'd wear it backwards, make it a more personal homage.

It's also 3 ( my main number ) added to 69. Ayoooooo

My current F1 2018 number and probably overall number of choice is No.43, which was my grandparents’ flat number when I was little and brings me fond memories, especially since my grandad died.

In real life I actually do some yachting in No.4. That’s actually a permanent number attached to my father’s yacht, but it’s a bit common as a race number. If the FIA allowed it, my inner Damon fan would have me choosing No.0.

Indeed. Rubens has 2 of #23's wins - the others are Clark (Belgium '64) and Kovalainen.

In the F1 mobile game, I use #61 as Leclerc has #16, but #61 is also appropriate for me as it's the house number that I grew up in.

I absolutely adore the MotoGP style personal numbers. Gives much more needed personality and branding to the drivers. I just wish the numbers would be bigger. Like NASCAR bigger.

 

I prefer teams sticking to certain numbers like in IndyCar, NASCAR, and most sportscar series. Over the years you'll start to associate the number with a driver, like 14 for Foyt who's kept the number for his team after retiring from racing himself. There'ss also certain kind of continuity like Chase Elliott taking over Gordon's 24 before switching to his father's 9 and leaving the 24 for another youngster Byron.

 

If I was a team owner in any of those series, my preferred numbers would be 7 (the month of my birth), 17 (the day of birth), 71, or 77. If I was an F1 driver, I guess my number would be 71, it's still not taken, right?

I wonder, what is the story behind Le Mans allowing 007 and up at Le Mans for Aston Martin entries. That Aston might want to thrive on the historical links between James Bond 007 and Aston Martin is someting I can understand if indeed the cae. But why Le Mans allowed those three digits? I know there were also 3 digit numbers for a while during the 80s,  (IMSA category) is the 007 allowed a silent continuation of what happened in the 80s ?

I wonder, what is the story behind Le Mans allowing 007 and up at Le Mans for Aston Martin entries. That Aston might want to thrive on the historical links between James Bond 007 and Aston Martin is someting I can understand if indeed the cae. But why Le Mans allowed those three digits? 007 was before the WEC was re-launched, wasn't it? Other categories seem more relaxed about the numbers, Blancpain has 3-digit number as does N24h as well.

 

I just wonder what's the exact rule for the No. 50 in the WEC/Le Mans. The low numbers are for protos and the high numbers for GTs, that's why Corvette's 3 & 4 become 63 & 64. (Or 73 & 74, etc.) But Larbre has been using the 50 previously in GTE-Am and now in LMP2.

 

As for IMSA, I think we've seen ESM running 1 & 2 and Ganassi running 01 & 02 in the same race, even in the same class.   And none was the champion's #1. (Even though Ganassi may, or may not, have been the defending champions.)

#77 is because that is the karting number I had in my breakthrough year. With first podiums, podium in the national jr.champ etc.

#86 is sort of the same reason. Almost on the anniversary date of a traumatic head injury that left me with a broken scull, severe brain hemmorrhage and a permanent brain damage affecting speech and motorics in my right arm. I managed to get a 2nd place in a properly attended karting event.
Finally I felt like I was back in business.

Then the money ran out and I had to stop. Regardless. Those two numbers will forever be important for me, and one day I hope to be back on track. Hopefully with the same numbers!
