This is probably a stupid question, but the Rich Energy drink has nothing in common with this Rich Energy Drink, right?

11351632_1598009590440566_93936101_n.jpg
"Not only is Rich Energy Drink the ultimate mixer, it's a great foundation to start any weekend!"

"ABOUT RICH ENERGY DRINK
Rich Energy Drink is poised to make a stunning debut on the Energy Drink Market in the United States! Originally conceptualized in Croatia, Rich Energy Drink is designed to offer the utmost quality and flavor. Rich Energy Drink is manufactured in Austria with the world’s most pure water. The flavor of Rich Energy Drink is superb and the texture of the mixture is historical. Rich Energy Drink represents a new class of Energy Drinks that actually tastes great! While the flavor of Rich Energy Drink is groundbreaking, the ability of the product to mix with a wide variety of beverages is magical. Rich Energy Drink allows the consumer to taste the quality of beverage they choose to mix with it. This is unprecedented! Rich Energy Drink is highly complimentary. Rich Energy Drink has stood against numerous energy drinks and won every comparison. We look forward to giving you an opportunity to taste the revolution!"

That's from richenergydrink.com, captured by the Internet Archive in June 2013.
The first news item on the website was from October 2012: "COMING SOON TO A BAR OR NIGHTCLUB NEAR YOU!"

And it did come to a bar in the United States, in Nebraska, where the "distributor of Rich Energy Drink, a premium beverage manufactured in a state-of-the art facility in Salzburg, Austria" opened a bar that he named after the drink: Rich Bar & Lounge.

But again, this Rich Energy Drink has nothing to do with Rich Energy, does it? It looks like a totally different iteration of gold.

I am willing to bet anything up to a maximum of £3 that this deal falls through. I mean it's ridiculous, how can a company no one has heard of and who's product you cannot readily purchase suddenly find millions to title sponsor an F1 team.

I love how BOTH Rich Energy drinks boast having pure water as an ingredient.

No mention of irresponsible levels of sugar and artificial sweeteners that'll rot your guts.

Or maybe the two Rich Energy drinks are the same bloody beverage after all. Unless this is a random Twitter account who just happens to have the same name as the CEO of the Croatian Rich company.

... Nice try. I got no horse in the game, it just looks a bit too good to be true.

However, years ago when there was a dedicated Norwegian F1-forum, we found an article written about something F1 related, that "those meddling forumers" knew was wrong. We did our own little digging, and managed to uncover a journalist that had made fake news for many years. That is actual fake news. He used his fantasy, and made interviews with stars and famous people, while never having met any of them. It was all a hoax.

Don't underestimate anyone just because they are "just a member of a forum".

I keep forgetting that I'm a child of the 60's and the only person to have watched Scooby-Doo unironically...

Have to be the same. No way you can start same product witch same name. They just switched style, country etc. i think. Looks like a second try to launch it. Those cars is just Photoshop imo. Just like the helicopter and so on. A friend of my has a sticker/wrap company, he makes daily such examples for customers (edit: cars and vans, not helicopters, but basis is same). As long i don't see these branded transport vehicles in real life situations i have to assume they are not real.

I find this at their "partners" page over the top. "Rich Energy the leading UK energy drink brand"   :rotfl:  :rotfl:

Hah! Child of the 90's here. Favorite thing to watch was the old Scooby-Doo shows on Cartoon Network and Boomerang. I just do not expect anything on Autosport to be a Scooby Doo reference! ;-)

Seems like quite a risky business model to borrow a shed load of money to run some major F1 sponsorship to drive global awareness and demand for a product... and then borrow a shed load more money to scale up production to fulfill that demand once it's there...if its there... Sounds like a scheme...

Sounds like a scheme...

It's not borrowed money i think, no lender would do that. But for a investor, it can be lucrative for sure, but still a gamble.

In 2016, a total of 6.062 billion cans of Red Bull were sold worldwide, just getting a small % of that number can make you enough profit.

Could they have followed this? https://howtostartan...s/energy-drinks

Here is a nice Australian competitor's (cheaper powder to energie drink) summary. Some info about the sector and costs costumer. https://reizeclub.co...-much-spending/ Clear inside in possibilities but also lots of risks laid out. As like against everything now a days, there is a big anti-energy drink lobby for instance and here in the Netherlands are supermarkets who don't sell it below 14 years. That can go higher in years to come, just one of those risks.

Curious is Rich Energy will succeed, can't predict yes or no yet. I'm slightly more towards NO at the moment. Just because their unrealistic claims as "Rich Energy the leading UK energy drink brand". But if they have their world wide distribution ready to go (can't be only online and some hotels etc.), production capability, promotion budget all ready it can succeed.

Before next season starts they should have the cans in every supermarket, gas station, bar, sport kantine, etc. in Amerika and whole Europe for sure. Every selling point should get some PR material from sticker too billboard etc. That takes a lot of money, production, planing, deals with transporters, import companies, bottle factories, pr companies, etc. and creating own business structure with the needed people and facilities to make that happen for now and in the future. I would not be surprised there are countries they first have to get approval before it may be sold there, they could have all that, but that's not known atm..

With the right budget and people, it can be done. But there should be fast things visible besides a website change in F1 theme. If i can buy a can at start season next year in my local supermarket here in the Netherlands, than i believe all will come good. But i highly doubt they can pull that off and have put most time in finding the big global brand expansion and recognition opportunities instead these kind of preparations. Hope they proof me wrong for Haas and F1 sake. A new potential big sponsor in the sport is always welcome. Otherwise they still can succeed, but much slower. They should be global brand end next year, not in 4 years.

All in my opinion and just rambling.

Temped to order a crate and own a hilarious piece of history if they go big or bust. Like the bottles of Jordan's EJ10 I still have.

Maybe I can flog them as singles on the bay. Any takers?

Or Billy Beer in the USA. For those who don't know Billy Carter was the renegade brother of Jimmy Carter, President in the late 70s. He was known to be a bit of a boisterous good-ole-boy and embarrassment, at times, for the president. A brewer paid him to brand a newly marketed beer "Billy Beer" to take advantage of his reflected fame from his presidential brother. It didn't stay on the market long (crap beer) and cans are novelties, but not really collectors' items. https://en.wikipedia...wiki/Billy_Beer

I check some more.

Motor is real.

Helicopter is difficult, can't find without logo and seems they have a helicopter with logo on it. But could also just be a day rent including logo, all possible, but here, for me it seems Photoshop. https://www.facebook...?type=3 All dots surrounding logo that are indication Photoshop for me but could just because color change. Here a helicopter shot from other side, so seems legit enough. https://www.facebook...?type=3

Here they use a picture that's not a original. https://www.facebook...?type=3 TinEye result https://tineye.com/s...a1598bf6e7d6a1/

It seems all their delivery is done by just a van. inside: https://www.facebook...?type=3 outside: https://www.facebook...?type=3

All their F1 car variations let's see on it's own they have the knowledge and/or manpower to Photoshop what ever wanted on what ever attribute/photo if wanted.

I keep the impression, it's something, potential, but portray themselves that much bigger (with (half) lies/exaggerations/size/etc) than that they are (imo) that that easy can boomerang back.

I don't doubt they will do their obligations towards Haas, just because i expect Haas has that secured by a bank-guarantee or something like that. They also have some big money backers like David Sullivan https://www.facebook...?type=3

I agree Maxioos, They are photoshopping to make themselves seem bigger than they are.

They have an Austral Asia (sic) site: richenergydrinks dot com, with more 'shops;

Powerboats; https://tineye.com/s...abda074f8f0b66/

Flying suits https://tineye.com/s...e6c3ab4323d314/

Bike racing https://tineye.com/s...9e6f5001648b99/

and others.

A car from the British site; https://tineye.com/s...0b824d76d7336c/

They did sponsor car 97 in the Nascar Bluecross NC200.

I think they are just throwing lots at the wall to see what sticks.

Nice poster. :) Lincoln would be Lincoln, Nebraska where the distributor opened Rich Bar (which has closed).

He also seems to be the owner of this café:

This would be a shipment for the Croatian Rich company.

Wouldn't be surprised at all that this deal is suddenly over during this season or at the end of the season. Sometimes you haven't heard of a name, but most F1 sponsors are big multinationals and you can easily locate their buildings and products.

Let's just see their competition: Red Bull and Monster.

This is (for me) interesting to follow.

It's a giant step from a brand selling from website (hardly i suspect) and delivering from a van too a hotel, a footballclub and last year HQ Amberlounge and all others are also local site's or little importance i suspect transforming to a Global brand.

The amount of money and planning will be insane if they are true, and could (should) also be visibly very fast justified.

Couple points.

-Money

-Production

-Distribution

-Promotion

Money seems not the problem. If true, we will see if some new info about this years compagnie finance comes public gives some new inside in that. I just can't imagine a compagnie as big as Haas would not at least their part have secured. They have fulltime lawyers for that stuff on payroll.

Production needs to be up't a lot. The first minimal stock production for world wide distribution is besides promotion budget one of the big investments without guarantee. If it's not going to be bought, you made it for nothing.

Lets say 50 countries 20.000 can's UK and US 200.000 can's. That's 1.400.000 can's production and distribution. That's 540 pallets, 58.333 cases/trays of 24 can's. Seems still low, maximal 58k selling points because 1 tray is minimal delivery normally. But minimal i think for sure needed. This isn't a number a bottler will have trouble with i suspect, but if i'm 10x to low in my prediction, it could be whole other case for bottler and/or can making factory. But all in all, not something i would get panicked about and because basis is there because product exist, and they of course such things also must have thought out, no deal braker.

The infrastructure for global distribution is working, they just have to step in that line at first proces step (biggest importer/distributor in EU/US, so they take over all transport from there. Splitting between countries, Sales points, etc) For sure no deal braker. just finding the right "transport" partner and they take from factory till costumer out of your hands. They should have this (close to) ready by now because needed translations, permits, space, etc.

Promotion is by far the part that will cost most, but only efficient if other points working also. Selling on the website with current products and price is just a "joke". That was all just to make a brand name. They have a shopping-cart in right top, but you can't order other than by mail. Would not be surprised they until now haven't sold a whole pallet. Produced more and distributed more, but pr deal instead sell, just for branding. Could easy be that all is done with 5 pallets, 12.960 can's. one or 2 stickerd cool-boxes, some flags and other promo stuff as cloth, hats, boxing floor, small/smart sponsoring and a good Photoshoper.

But global selling and promotion is other categorie. There are again enough global operating specialized compagnies who gladly will take whole over for you, as long you pay. From promotion at selling points, until tv and internet advertising must be a must to justify the F1 sponsoring budget. You have to use that maximal to make most out of that invested money. And that's done by investing even more in side promotions.

All is dependent from the money they will have now onward. There is no sign they had big budget until now. From all what i have seen and found by now, their Van (likely lease) is their most valuable asset. Cloth, product, travel, promotion until now, i think could be even have been done below € 50.000,- and than is product and travel biggest cost post.

But what will be needed now, if lets assume 2 years title sponsor and livery in F1 should be worth at least 2x15 million (that can't be high right what we know FI deal and Martini deal for instance). That's 30 million, some upfront, some with a bank guarantee. (Or Haas has made deal for part company as investment option)

First production and distribution € 1 million.

Promotion, i would not be surprised that would needed same budget the Haas sponsoring has. From products, pr selling point boards etc. to more other sponsoring, etc.

That would mean they need a backing from a 50/60 million Euro. I hope for Haas they have.

How long would it take to make return investment/profit.

I suspect that if all would be running, the profit margin will be very high. Looking at price Red Bull, the price they now sell it for, won't be the normal consumer price, that should be higher for the image they portray. Out of simplicity i take 1 euro as buy in price for selling point and half is gone in costs leaving factory until seller.

So, 50 cent a can for RE. 1 cent can, 8 cent water and sugar (simplistic of course), 4 cent business costs (personal etc.), 15 cent promotion. = 28 cent costs 24 cent profit.

60 million divided by 24 cent is 250.000.000 can's to reach profit point. That's 4,16% of Red Bull's year sell of 6 billion can's. They won't sell half (only f1 sponsoring value) only from their website, just not possible. (Edit: for reaching this they have a PR budget of 37.500.000 (250milx0,15)) Seems not out of reach if close to right numbers.

All numbers are just mine, no facts, can explain thinking or reasoning, but don't attack me on a possible (most likely even) wrong number. If even 1 number would be correct would be a miracle. But this would be the line of thinking a investor would have and you would have to show imo.

Has anyone actually confirmed it is sold in any hotels stated besides the two online instances? I bet they have no production line and are still flogging the prototype / v1.0 promo batches.

Shipping labels are odd: It indicates AIT Worldwide Logistics with the same address, etc. but a crucial difference: Omaha, NE (Nebraska) and Omaha, TX (Texas) with the same postal code (what we call the zip code). The postal code is for the airport area in Omaha, Nebraska. There is an Omaha, Texas; it is east-northeast of Dallas. All Texas zip codes start with a 73, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, or 88.

Why don’t a bunch of you go together and buy a pallet from Amazon UK?  It would be interesting to see if there was a second pallet available, or if after selling one pallet the item is “Out of Stock.”   I’d do it – seriously – except I think the shipping to the US for a pallet of cans (empty or full) is beyond me.

I know I must be missing something.  In my career I worked in both marketing and sponsorship at different times, and NONE of this makes any sense to me.

Don't know, but getting unmask as Photoshop phony possible scam artist isn't clever in my books. I wouldn't had to want do anything with such unethical compagnie. 2 pages on a forum off season is far from impressive if just have done sponsoring value multiple millions. But if you find it impressive, you might be their targeted costumer.

They left "Sample" on top. It are no real Shipping labels imo.

Mine arrived. Will post you an update when I get home to unload.

I literally bought these to aid the discussion. Was looking at their instagram, it is all very amateurish, lots of repeat photos used and I think the 'ambassadors' must walk about with 5 cans in their pockets at all times just to snap them in random places. Wouldn't surprise me if its run by Storey on his mobile.

Most of these are probably unofficially unaffiliated at the time (hotels, casinos, resorts, events) and piggybacking off the location tags.

Not really proper marketing, but evidently it works as I purchased a one off. Though not as a result of their direct marketing, more from the discussion here to prove a point and answer queries.

I am still intrigued who's idea it was to brand and tag as a 'british born / made product' and all the union jack logos when the ingredients are secret and likely not british at all; the water used probably isn't british and and they pride on being bottled in a top facility in Austria. There is literally nothing British about the product itself, besides maybe the creators passport.

Right...

Currently unavailable via Amazon UK.

Also noted Companies House now only list 2 officers of the company, one being William Story the other being Zoran Terzic - a "Keep Fit Instructor"... And on the shareholders listing, William Storey owns 64% and a few others the rest, none notable other than the ex-footballer Rob Lee who owns 10%. No mention of Gold or Sullivan in any company docs so if they are the would be the investors, they have no interest at this stage...

Don't forget to carry one around and photograph it with hotels, pubs and bus stations in the background.

"ITC INTERTRADE COMPANY is a producing, trading and distribution company headquartered in Landshut / Germany, near Munich with production in Austria."

Here's a shipment of Rich from an Austrian beverage manufacturer to Lincoln: https://www.importge...istribution-llc

And this page suggests that the Rich Energy distributor in Lincoln either has come up with another premium energy drink or simply changed identity and iteration of gold. https://www.foodbevg...um-Energy-Drink

Oh how fun wouldn't it be to use run-down 2star hotels. Shady pubs etc. as background. "Bringing Rich to the poor".

But the description is all about Rich. Not MIXR

I think it says "sample" because you can get access to more shipment records if you register at importgenius.com

Could be indeed, but those incorrect zipcodes are a sign imo.

Now this would be funny, I might start doing it and tagging their same insta tags to random places. Any amusing situations you can think of that aren't offensive and potentially good for them (so I can't be sued, ideally). I will begin tonight!

Heck, I am not here to hate on them, I would love a British man and company to succeed. Who knows, it might help them indirectly whilst having a laugh.

I am curious to see the best before dates on the crates I ordered. The photos online show cans with Dec 2018 as the expiry. I wonder, if its one massive batch ordered for the initial promo, and they are still flogging those off.

That said, the ingredients should probably be measured in nuclear half-life as opposed to shelf life. How long does a typical can of RB last?

While true.

This is kinda what I work with these days. And - e.g Coca Cola actually take a turn for the worse when it is expired. We get pretty much brand new soda when we order, and we use 6 months as a cut-off for Coke.
Fanta goes bad much faster though.

I have a great little red bull flight case fridge in my shed, when I moved house I forgot it was still loaded with cans of coke and forgot they were there. Went to take one this summer, my god, it was absolutely rotten. I never thought things like that would go bad, like tins literally last forever and I have eaten stuff 5+ years past it and not been able to tell.

Gone off carbonated drinks, still sealed...only past the use by date by maybe 4-5 months? Holy moly. Probably up there with the worst things I have ever tasted.
