Here is Mr.Alen Borbas. From browsing his fb profile, he is a man incapable of smiling. Perhaps some form of facial paralysis from imbibing a dodgy early formulation of RICH richness?

I love the fact that he's wearing the latest iteration of the logo.

So I just came home from a talkshow in copenhagen with both Magnussen and Steiner on stage taking questions. Lots of Rich energy cans everywhere. I even got handed one on my way out. So no apparant shortage in denmark. I have not been following this thread closely, but I can upload some pictures of the can if you would like.

First a picture, then a taste test and full review.... best if compared to Red Bull in order we know which beverage is the foulest.

Too late!  Nobody can stop the rise and rise of Rich Energy.  By May, most of the cars at Indy will be carrying Rich Energy decals.  There might even be some cans there if they can get them sent over from Denmark.

With all the shady characters and shadowy back history, I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being the inspiration for True Detective Season 4.

“Rich Energy has quickly become one of the fastest growing brands in the world, connecting with high-end events like Formula 1 and Australian GT, allowing us to promote the relationship of a quality premium European product and premium brands like Audi and Australian GT.”

Seems like they've never gone to Europe to do their research then..

I wonder how "fastest growing" in terms of a "brand" is measured. What does growth of a brand really mean? I would think the two metrics for measuring brand growth would be brand recognition and sales of product. I'm sure if I bothered to try I could think of many new brands that have considerably bigger growth in both these metrics.

Mathematically its easy to objectively be a fast growing brand when you start from zero.

Doubling or tripling your brand following/value/awareness from sod all to three times sod all makes for good headlines and is a pretty old trick.

Rates are funny things. You can pick any two time points and represent them as a rate (though clearly it won’t be accurate). If we took the moment before and after a transaction of a 90-can pallet sale, we could easily say, “We’re selling 90 cans every second! Fastest growing brand in the world!” and still claim to be factually correct.

Ah, but you could only claim for that moment. Once that moment had passed (and someone else has had a similar moment) to declare that you are the fastest grown brand would be factually incorrect. You'd have to say "we were once the fastest growing brand".

Most teams make a "sponsor car" for showing. It won't be a carbon car, but don't expect it drives.

Google is your friend: From the Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia...ki/Haas_F1_Team

Main base: Kannapolis, North Carolina, USA (near Charlotte)

European base: Banbury, Oxfordshire, UK

The picture was probably taken at the UK base.

That was at Banbury. I have a name but it’s not producing anything at the moment. I lost a big post of new leads and gaps around Storey, so have had to retype it all in word.

Hopefully in the next day or two, has as much if not more than the last big update.

You have to wonder why this team needs two bases when they don’t even build all of their car themselves.

Haas is essentially their european advertising arm, which is somewhat fitting to the global intentions of Rich Energy.

Because they do build their cars themselves, they like all other teams have sub-suppliers who they buy various parts from to be assembled at their own premises. Being a US based company, who have had a Autoracing operation out of Kannapolis for many years.

They have a forward base in Banbury in the UK, which is where cars are turned around between races.

But is for some reason important for a lot here to keep looking down at a team who managed what the previous 3 newest teams could not, become a credible team from their inception. Get over it, all they do is compete according to the rules in place.

Well that's what we're hoping.

It would be a shame if this was a massive sham and Haas were taken in by it, leading to their undoing.

I don’t think it would lead to their undoing as they weren’t banking on this deal to ‘save’ them financially as far as we know.

According to some press I read last year the cars are based at Dallara where they are maintained with the Ferrari parts going back to Ferrari.  Banbury is used for race support equipment and the motorhomes as well as the logistics base for the flyaway and oversea equipment.  At one point they were making F1 parts in Kannapolis using the machine tool capability at SHR.  The core business operations, finance, accounting, etc are run by Joe Custer in Kannapolis.

Some sources say the cars go directly to Dallara and the engines to Ferrari between the gp so the car is assembled in italy. Matthew Carter who visited Banbury even said it was pretty much empty.

Edit: didnt see Loki's message : P

How many pubs claim to be the smallest or the oldest! Vague claims about a business growth/success are par for the course, everyone does it and nobody cares. Impossible to verify and who is going to sue?!

I wonder if Rich Energy are going to change the livery on the cars before the season starts? They seem to have made the same mistakes as Lotus did with the Black and Gold livery lacking standout. It's really hard to see the logo on the engine cover when the car is on track and due to the crease in the bodywork it looks more like it says "Bushy" as the car comes past which is fairly amusing to me!
