From @McLarenF1

Some cars are red,

Others are blue.

On Valentine’s Day,

We’ll reveal ours to you.

Its still there:
Monday January the 28th
Tuesday January the 29th
Wednesday January the 30th
Thursday January the 31st

Just a side thought:
Latifi to Williams could mean one of his more prominent sponsors shifting through to Williams themselves? Lavazza was one of my first thoughts.

Randstad Italy and judging by the exposure it's a very minor deal.

Toro Rosso - Randstad

Toro Rosso teaming up with temp-work employment agency is already one of the more amusing sponsorship deals of the year.

It's badly fotoshopped indeed. But just saying what I see. Nothing more.

Sigh. That McLaren pic is fake. The team have declared it as such.

According to Marko in motorsport magazin, there will probably be no 'official RB launch'. A bit like last year, car will be released in camouflage paintjob and will do a day at silverstone before the Barcelona test.

Would be time that teams all pinch in for a joined launch event. At the eve of the first tests, teams show up at a event organized by Liberty to unveil their cars with all journo's over the globe to report, add some fan experience to the mix, broadcast it live and Liberty has something special to sell.

It would, in all cases, be better than a flumsy pitlane launch.

Fair point. But come on, something has to be done about these stupid ass pitlane launches. The days are gone where Benetton revealed it's car at San Marco square in Venice. Or Jordan at the Royal Albert Hall with some unknown ladies singing along who called themselves Spice Girls or something?

Not sure the teams who love the attention of a launch would like the idea of sharing it.

I doubt teams still like to draw attention as much as they liked it in the late 90s and early 00s. After all, they're standing in the pitlane on a cold morning in the middle of nowhere, pulling a blanket of a car which, in some cases, even features outdated parts... heck, some just give us stupid CGI rendered images.

If they want attention, they have to attach their drivers to wires and pull them right up to the ceiling!  :rotfl:

Yeah the whole extravagant launch thing was a bit of a mid-to-late 90s fad really. I remember people moaning about the over-the-top nature of it at the time. And it wasn't all teams either, there used to be comments that Williams - at the time they were doing the bulk of the winning - would go for a simple pitlane launch or something like that, making people wonder whether they were the team spending money where it was needed - on the car.

It will be nice if they had something like the le mans Passage in Barcelona the day before the testing. It will soon be a event with a small trade show associated with it.

Montjuic Park would be the the a great location

It was the tobacco firms that wanted the big launches as they could wine and dine the media and get their logos into the papers and onto the TV news bulletins.

There's no incentive for the blue chip sponsors of today to do them as they can just legally buy ad space whenever and wherever they need it.

I would really like to see a 2 or 3 days event before the first tests. The week end before, as a GP week end.

Day 1 (and 2 if necessary), launch the cars from the last championship standing, 10 to 1.
Day 2((or 3), meet with the fans, itw, "parade" of the cars, etc.

It can be done anywhere, any time (prime time for Tv show?), on a scene, paddock, street, etc. And the parade on track or on the street...with some another shows (as concerts or whatever they want).

Launch the cars and, by the same time, launch the F1 season...

Mclaren had a small intake above the engine but I thought they realised that that dexision was a major mistake because they realised the cooling space round the sidepods was more important.

This pic has a bigger air box. Unless Im missing somethinf

Again, that's a fake. A photoshopped 3d render. https://www.artstati...m/artwork/roJqa

But yes the 2019 Mclaren should have a larger intake, their last teaser suggest that.

Randstad actually left Williams after the 2017 season.....but given the 2018 Williams rarely featured on TV, the absence of the Randstad logos would not have been so noticeable.

Well there is a difference. Williams was in ties with Randstad global. Toro Rosso is having this deal with the Italian branch of Randstad. Read: a significantly lower deal.

Group launch Event IMO was probably one of the few good ideas to come from Liberty.  Seems to make total sense, and hype the season with a major significant press event.

Man the teams need to come together already and think of the greater good then their selfishness.

That would have been awesome.

The teams need to get maximum exposure for their hard won sponsors. Having a joint launch where the media only report (publish pictures of) next years Ferrari and Mercedes won't help the other 8 teams much. A single joint launch event would never work. That is not to say that Liberty couldn't negotiate some sort of coordinated schedule of private team launches in the week leading up to the pre-season test AND host a media event the day before the test where all the teams have a half hour time slot where they are required to have their car and drivers on stage at their allocated time. They could arrange celebrities/models from different countries hosting races, past drivers from each teams, all 21 winners trophies that the teams will be racing for, do the "class of 2019" drivers photo etc. They could also arrange for old cars to be present so the media can run "how these cars are different" and "F1 through the years" stories too.

Basically Liberty could try and make things easier for the media and launch the championship.

EDIT     PS ....- and reduce the media accreditation requirements for the day to encourage bloggers (if they are serious about promoting F1 on the internet.)

I disagree about individual launching meaning much for sponsors.  Scattered, meaningless self photo op doesnt due much IMO.  A large event with each team taking a stage and unveiling with each principle designer(s) for for a media blitz would have given sponsors way more bang for their buck.  Sure, smaller teams would get more exposure but I do not think for a second the principle big teams would lose out any .. real shame it wasn't attempted.

Should have made them an offer they could not refuse: Friday morning event in China, Saturday day event in London and Sunday evening event in Canada. All paid by Liberty.
