Another livery change on the way? I liked last year's livery a lot. Hope they won't change orange and blue combination.

I do not expect a sudden change. The papaya/blue livery was bombarded as the new McLaren F1 Team's coorperate color during its announcement if Im not mistaken. So depending if a (very) big sponsor has been tied to McLaren, the livery will likely not change. That would be my two cents.

That's a harsh exclamation to make. It a heritage livery.

The change of livery means the new big sponsor. Otherwise it won't happen. So I wouldn't mind.

Zak has made various suggestions before that he wants the branding around McLaren itself to be consistent, including the name of the team (note, I'm not talking about sponsors). So I wouldn't be surprised if the basic concept of the livery design is part of that.

As a minimum, they have to be the fastest Renault team.  Anything less is failure.

Since we're talking Dennis and it's off-season (hence there's not much to discuss), I might as well post a (somewhat) recent interview with Ron. Perhaps it's been posted already, but I hadn't seen it before until recently. Ron seems to be doing just fine no longer being at the helm of McLaren. I sense no bitterness and hearing him talk is inspiring. The documentary also sheds some light on how he was removed from the board.

Man, ive read some nicer posts in the past. But some comments I find here are pretty mean and derogatory. Yeah Mclaren has struggled the past few years but saying things like sucking and pooing and what not does not shed a good light. Apologies as this is not directed at any particular individual but I guess its understandable why McLaren fans have this bitterness. I hope McLaren to have a great season next year and to hopefully see more positive and cheerful comments here.

As Ron always said you are only one step away from greatness. For Zak he will go 20 steps backwards and no idea how to go forward. Ron put together one of the greatest F1 championship dominating teams in the history of the world. This man is a champion and all we have now is a fat snake oil salesman Zak harping on about Indy and a backmarker livery.

You mean you, not me. I completely don't. The bondage McLaren fans have to the Ron is a constant source of entertainment for me. As is everything that has to do with Woking's very disconcerting current state of affairs. Being a 'fan' of this team's distracting legacy is beginning to look like trauma.

Actually, I just meant that Ron would never have countenanced a bit of doggerel like that in the OP.

 

Although I do think his place is at the helm of Mclaren and we are seeing pygmies walking in the footsteps of a giant.  But no-one is irreplaceable.

In all fairness i dont blame Mclaren for trying to adopt a more public-friendly/approachable image the late years.  

Although it was their "cold and corporate" side of things that made them what they are, the times are changing and the turn is obvious (mainly after Martin's leadership seasons.)

I mean in the era we live in, you cant be always behind closed gray walls in your Death Star, they had to adapt a little bit. 

Its just if Ron was around you wouldn't be able to rumble around twitter or fb while been 6th on the table....

Had to win (not fight for,but WIN ) the title,then you can start rhyming or joking around.
