I like this new BRG
However i may have spoke to soon: i'm reading that quali & race may be geoblocked, depending on your country's live access.
Can't remember if it was the same in Riyadh or not.

edit: Attack Mode Zone!

AM.png

The Riyadh race video was totally unrestricted.

That attack mode lane looks more like a crash mode lane.

The last point is super interesting, even if I already love the look of the current Gen 2 car.

But yep. 4 seasons with the same, identical car aheatetically would have bored.
2 seasons with the current look + 2 with an "upgraded" look, before switching to Gen 3, sounds perfect.

Wonder where that upgrade will focus. Will they add a rear wing?

It definitely makes sense to run a similar evolution timeline for Gen2 - subtle as the Gen1 change was I thought it actually had a dramatic improvement in the look. So it might be that a similar 'less is more' evolution might be a good way to go.

As well as being on a curve, that's surely going to be a dirty part of the track for the Attack Mode lane. I can definitely see more than one driver coming in a little too hot and slipping out of the lane and missing the boost come the race.

I noticed they added those little flaps with driver's name on the camera up there!

Anyway, cars looked almost faster than last year's race pace in today's shakedown with less than half power

Can't wait for tomorrow

If you dont like FE dont watch it. I dont like Nascar so i dont watch it for example. The FE cars are more than fast enough for me to enjoy. There is more to racing than outright speed.

I've tried. Watched every race of Season 1. Drifted away in Season 2... Returned this season on the promise of new cars etc.

Go on, sell it to me... what excites you about Formula E?

Looks like it is delayed coverage on the BBC Red Button - 17:25 - 19.25

Just checked and it seems that the BBC are going to be showing the race live tomorrow from 14:30 to 16:30 on the the red button, but it gets repeated at 17:25.

First off... wonderful work by Gamer23 again, your passion is inspiring. Gotta work tomorrow so I'll sadly miss the live race ( again ! ). Wishing y'all a ton of fun even though this is one of the tracks I loathe with fervor in all Motorsports. Will watch a replay Sunday evening and imagine the memes as being live.

See y'all again to the proper first round of the championship. S A N T I A G O

Go Techeetah, Evans and Paffett. Much electric love.

I've often wondered why they make Saturday race day for Formula E.. i would imagine all around the world people are generally more likely to be out at work on a Saturday, plus Sunday is traditional race day.

Perhaps they like to leave Sunday for the clean up operation so that the city can be back to normal for the Monday?

Re: Santiago, it's a new track there this year. Looks promising..

I dunno, but I'd imagine it just doesn't generate enough traffic for the website?

I still can't get into this series, despite the hype.

Cars seem at least five years away from being even vaguely fast enough to be interesting.

Go on, sell it to me... what excites you about Formula E?

I really don't get this instant gratification. This is the future in the making I reckon. I personally am fascinated by what it is.

Crazy lap times considering how dusty & cold the track was!
2.1 seconds faster than last year's testing record already

Everyone was improving in the end, much more to come in FP2!

Robin Frijns & Virgin looks on it, but in FP2 we'll see completely different track conditions!

FP2 at 9.10 UK TIME!

Couple of observations:

- Nissan seem to have landed on their feet ending up with Rowland in one of their cars

- HWA seem to be doing a better job of running their Venturi cars than Venturi themselves

He had to turn it off and on again on track in practice 2, they might have identified a faulty component... (hence the rear end change)

What makes FE so good is the drivers can really make a difference, cars are similar so it’s really down to who does the best lap

Vandoorne seems to have been cursed since he won the GP2 title.
