Much less going on under the front of the car behind the front wing than last year's car. Is that due to regulations?

Otherwise biggest difference is the sidepods and barge boards and leading edge of that area.

Fans: We want more yellow!!!

Renault: ...So you want more black then!

Seriously though, I wanted more yellow also just to help make it stand out from the Haas.

Yeah, a properly yellow car is much missed. Still a decent livery though.

I have a good feeling for Renault this year.

Very Red Bull-esque sidepod intakes and a lot of rake!

I think it was the prettiest car on the grid last year and is by miles the prettiest of the launches to date.

Best livery until now, but too much black and too little yellow for my likings.

And I'm not sure it's the right shade of yellow.

That is (despite the halo) one beautiful looking Formula 1 car. I like it a lot.

Suprised by the rake though!

So another boring re-release, this time of a car that didn't look good to begin with. Dissapointing.

Imagine how awesome this car would look if they reversed the colours.

The film shows the cars from some five cars back. Very few shots are about this years's car..

That is not a rake. That is antirake.

Rake is when the nose of the car is higher than the rear

When the nose is lower than the rear we call it antirake

Yeah there’s about four pics of the new car and like with all these cars it’s not the end product. But still there are plenty of interesting details here for people to look at and draw conclusions from, the extreme rake, the Ferrari-esque sidepods, the front suspension clearing the way to the sidepods. It’s a good account of what direction they’re taking this year. Honestly we got more than I was expecting. I figured we’d only see the 2018 car with this years livery and front wing.

Positive rake angle is higher end, and negative rake angle is higher front of the car. Negative rake is not in use in racing.

There's a lot more vanes on the leading edge of the floor compared to last year as well.

Looks great, I really dig the livery. Love, love, love the more simple front wing regs for this year, so much better than the cluttered mess we have had for the past few years.

Courtesy of AMUS - https://www.auto-mot...9-f1-auto-2019/

Chief Technology Officer Nick Chester is confident that the RS19 can live up to expectations: "Above all, we've been concentrating on putting the units closer together and reducing weight. We will be able to add significantly more ballast to play in 2019. "
When it comes to aerodynamics, the first pictures in particular reveal the new side box shape, which follows the trend of Haas and Toro Rosso with the cooling holes located high up. The baffles on the flanks have also been modified. They are no longer running in a round sweep from the bottom up but square.

The rear wing on the yellow and black racer is now as on the previous Ferrari on two stilts. This helps with controlled bending under load. Between the stilts there is a kind of monkey seat above the exhaust. Blowing the underside of the rear wing, as Renault operated last year, is excluded by the new regulations. The tail moved 7 centimeters upwards.

And I like the fact they painted the inside of the 4 endplates yellow, like for the test version of the RS.16... They're like Louboutin schoes, but in yellow.

http://www.formula1-...rake_angle.html

It is used in skip barber. It was used in 60s. It was used in formula Ford.

Basically it is/was used every where where you had a light car with little or no downforce.
