WHERE: Mexico City, Foro Sol (the F1 stadium, you know)
WHEN: Saturday & Sunday night!
WHY: Your racing fix for this weekend. Enough for you?

No Pascals will be hurt this time

LINEUP
OLD GUYS, YOUNG GUNS (+ random Mexicans)

This year's ROC lineup features a good mix of young talents & old masters of the steering wheel.
Sebastian Vettel is looking for another win for Team Germany at the Roc Nations cup, along with Mick Schumacher. But can the 4 times F1 world champion go for the main, solo crown too?
But guys, what a nostalgic sight it will be, seeing Vettel alongside the young Mick:

vettel_schumacher_Race%20Of%20Champions.

Along with the confirmed veterans like David Coulthard, Tom Kristensen & Ryan Hunter Reay, we can notice a few new entries as well: Lucas Di Grassi makes his ROC debut after succesful seasons in Formula E, so is Josef Newgarden (2017 Indycar Champion) & Pierre Gasly, the upcoming Red Bull F1 driver.
Indycar is well represented this year: the one and only Helio Castroneveees is there for the big throphy: but Mexicans fans will go wild for their idol, Esteban Gutierrez & a few other local Mexican drivers.

This is what the lottery had to say for the first rounds of the 2019 ROC:

THE CIRCUIT
FLAT BUT COOL

Interesting track in the Foro do Sol: no elevation changes or jumps, but the track should be techinical enough to separe the man from the boys. Here it is a lap onboard the Foro Do Sol, Race of Champions circuit!

Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I'm inspired by the fact that my favourite Mexican driver will team up with my least favourite Mexican driver.

'Champions'. I'm surprised they can still convince sponsors to stump up for this. The last one worth watching was Bushy Park. Mexico should give a decent crowd (given how many show up for the GP), but the lamentable crowds they have received for over a decade should demonstrate that the confined stadium format isn't greatly appealing.

Your racing fix for this weekend. Enough for you?

Not really enough. I'll take some Supercross, Toyota Series, Asian Le Mans Series, Asian F3 and Dakar highlights too, thank you very much.

Bless you Gamer23, your enthusiasm is much needed. I'll tune in and share some laughs with y'all. Love you MEXICO

Now, skip the sim-part and leave it to "Group B all stars", would be awesome 😎

Now seriously, as a simracer through 35 years (ok not "real sim" for the first couple of decades) I'm curious if top iRacing stars or YT AC-stars like Jimmy Broadbent will attend. Some of those guys do actually have the physical racing skills to match up. However if it's just all random mexican simmers, it's a blow.

They did an E-Sports thing. Enzo Bonito is one of the team, the other will be the winner between Brendon Leigh, James Baldwin, Sebastian Job and Nils Naujoks.

It's supposed to be a tribute to Henri Toivonen, and only made up of rally drivers. We passed the 'oh this isn't what it should be!' threshold in 1999.

Hopefully they'll get a better crowd than the previous editions, which looked a bit pathetic. If Mexico can't do it, no one can.

I'd love to see Lewis race in RoC one year, I think he'd have a lot of fun tbh.

And after the emasculated Dakar, we have the castrated RoC.  How do these zombie events still manage to survive?   Just put a stake through its lack-of-heart and be done with it.

Normally I try to hold myself "above" laughing at racing drivers but I have to admit to cracking here & having a bit of a chuckle at the sad mental image of a faithful fan going wild for his idol every time he races but the idol happens to be Esteban Gutierrez

There will surely be a moment of silence for the victims of last night's fuel fire tragedy. The death toll has risen to 66.
