The Elfin story began in 1959 and by the mid sixties they were producing some very good cars.

I can think of no better time to celebrate with some beautiful photos from Stephen Jarrett, of the Vimy Ridge Jarretts who has recently opened the family album to reveal some marvellous gems of the halcyon Elfin period, starting with shot of Garrie at the wheel of his second Type 600, frame number 6802 (post his 1968 Singapore Grand Prix won in 6801 which he sold in Asia)

Bob Mills is speaking to Garrie, Mr Granton Harrison is to Bob’s right hand side and John Webb is crouched inspecting the driveshafts / gearbox area. The scene is set at Mallala, no doubt!

The Vimy Ridge Streamliner, this one may have been the car that the Jarrett family provided as part of Fulvio Mattiolo’s honour guard for his funeral.

No sign of Alby's Clubman there, James...

That would be fitting, especially if it was all wound up at Globe Corner leading the field.

From my time with an Elfin Mono #6441 in the mid 1980s to 1993  in historic racing ,was the wonderful fellowship between the owners brought about by the late Brique Read ,some enjoyable get togethers including the Bendigo weekend .

The mateship whether you had a pushrod early 60s single seater or owned a F50000,great times to own and race an Elfin.

Like many I still cherish my Elfin Owners club lapel badge.
