Is the 'Smith Special' the one about which we had so much discussion here?
In which case, the driver's name is unfamiliar.

That's the one...
I wonder if it's changed hands?

Even though there is an "achingly, timelessly gorgeous" Mk7 Bolwell - albeit one on steroids - where is a Nagari, considering it is the 50th anniversary of its release?
Bolwell is the 'Marque of the Meeting' at the Phillip Island Historics the week before the AGP. Nearly 60 Bolwells doing parade laps and a group grid photo set-up.

HI all
Yep, the Smith will be there - we do AP each year anyway so thought we might as well try a road-trip ;). She looks pretty much the same as the pics in the album (the colour one), although I might remove the roll bar for the trip and maybe add some Renault livery (joke)
Looking forward to seeing the other cars (some very special cars in that list)
cheers

Now I wish I could be there...
The Smith Special and some errant Elfins, added to a '29 Chrysler and the Maybach and the Keift De Soto, it's looking interesting.

Well Ray, as an added incentive for you to embark on a road trip, we have invited Clive Millis to the Historic Display where I intend to give him a "bodywork off tour of the Mono" and for him to give an interview on the Saturday before repairing to Bill Hemming's Grand Prix bbq at the Moorabbin Elfin Heritage Centre, you'd be most welcome to join in on both!!!

He doesn't look too happy in that Lakeside rain there...
1968 Gold Star (aka Governor's Trophy)?
I'm too far away, James, and I'm working too. But the enticement is real.

Does anyone look happy in the rain? And especially in an open wheeler.

Nice story is the son found and bought the car in NZ and gave it to his father as a birthday preso having not seen or heard of it for decades.
