What a shitty race. Slowly but surely getting sick of all this playoff nonsense.

Edit: Overtimes get very tedious and they bring up the bitch in me.

Sorry for Brad, he deserved better.

Good race, but slow Brad

I can't believe he was so slow.

But GO Penske! Make it four out of four Roger

Gutted for Keselowski. Those final two laps were painful, he just went back and back.

Nothing against him, but would have rather Logano went out.....happy for Chase though because for a long time it looked like he'd finish P2 but still drop out.

I'd really like Hamlin to take the title personally. He's NASCAR's Dani Pedrosa isn't he, really?

I'm happy that Chase made it and hope that he will win it.

A race that was in fact three, impossible for a newcomer to have the slightest clue as to what was going on. Thanks to all for the encouragement but sadly, it's not for me.

To be fair, as NASCAR races go for a newbie, that was about the worst one you could have watched.

Like Messy said - real s**ty one to start with. Hey, my first F1 race was Silverstone '95, so that wasn't at all great.

I recommend sticking around for the rest of the season. We got Martinsville up and that always produces a cracker. In the good, heartfelt racing way.

Overtimes make me lose my cool too, so I can perfectly understand. Yet, it's interesting and very telling that stage racing is having quite the adverse effect. I somehow don't mind, I just mind the fact that the final race can end like the first stage at this Sunday's Kansas 400 and Logano through sheer Penske short run gruff can beat all the best cars by a s**t timed yellow.

*cough cough* like he did last season

I digress. I'd love for more to be here in the threads and enjoy this series, I do still have such a fond love for stock car racing. You're welcome anytime Miles.

since they added the stages in race, I realize I'm paying less & less attention to it until it's the last stage... I dislike it a little more after each race. Coupled with the terrible elimination playoffs, I'm barely watching at all :/

I don't know one thing in which Indycar is greater than Nascar apart from international drivers and "S" circuits.

The manufacturers pushed their drivers to work together in Talladega, even rumored that Chevy threatened to take away personal company vehicles if drivers failed to comply.

So, let's say it's 3 Gibbs cars and 1 Ford or 1 Chevy going into the final race - How far will the manufacturers go to see their guy win? It seems quite possible that 3 Gibbs cars might make it.

Yes; I am a big fan of both. And IMSA.

The only thing Nascar needs to compare itself with is those grandstands from ten to fifteen years back.

There was a time when racing was so far out of the mainstream that you were just glad to find anybody that liked any kind of racing. I find this comparisons of my side of the sport is better than your discipline of the sport rather tiresome.

NASCAR I believe is more unique and curiously harder than Indycar, which is too much like F1 lite.

totally disagree on Indycar being “F1 lite”, it’s as completely different as it’s always been - but the uniqueness of NASCAR is a huge part of its appeal. There’s literally nothing else like it anywhere, just pretty terrible European copycat series watched by two blokes and a dog. It IS America. You’re almost transported straight to a log cabin in North Carolina.

You and me both. This is a niche, yet quite a popular one compared to yesteryears.

I'd love it if all enthusiasts would just be fans of Racing. Nothing more, nothing less. Comparison is careless and counter-productive.

Bring on Martinsville; I am all set for the Paperclip.

Yeah, I think this year's final three races at Brands Hatch will live on in Motorsport infamy for many years. But still; the comparison is useless.

I enjoyed this Motorsport.com article btw: https://www.motorspo...-honda/4571338/

Would be amazing to have at least 4 manufacturers in the series.

I liked the bit where he tried to draw NASCAR links because Honda executives went to Indianapolis. I mean, what compelling interest would they have in a pokey little race in Indiana?

Also the IMSA/Acura championship "coincidence" reference...(he could have thrown in a JPM mention to top it off)

I'm pulling for Kyle Busch or Denny Hamlin to win this year. I don't care about Lo-go or Chase or any of them others. I just want to see Denny get a championship or Kyle to (deservedly) get another one since he leads in actual points, not this contrived playoff system. Even though that did give him his only title so far.

However....It could still be going on when I finish with all that other stuff..

maybe around the...  7th GWC?

I’ve always really liked Truex. I like Logano’s paint scheme. I guess.

on an aside, the paint schemes on Ryan Newman’s #6 have been easily my favourite this year.
