Dismal showing for Hendrick considering Hemric and Buescher are top 10, plus Ganassi's performance

2021, if you ask me. Got the feeling since that car swap thing at Sakhir and his comments about Motorsport in general afterwards.

No midriff-baring shorts anymore, right?  I manage to make it to a Hooters every 25 years or so.

JJ is done. Bowman is small. From Elliott and Byron I expect some good results.

But main Chevy team now is Chip Ganassi Racing and driver Kyle Larson. If it wasn't for that penalty he would fight for win and maybe even won it. I expect big challenge from him in the next races, he's hell of a driver in a good team.

Hendrick's problem is drivers I think. Johnson's powers have been fading for a long time, the rest of them are inexperienced youngsters. Not convinced by Bowman, Byron is very, very young but yet to do a great deal and Elliott is clearly very good but if I had to choose between him and Larson......

Compare that to the days of prime Johnson, Dale Jr, Gordon and Kahne....

Ganassi now have two of the absolute best drivers in the field in their cars, Kurt and Kyle will push each other on.

In NASCAR it is car 80 percent, driver 15 percent and rules 5 percent.

Wise words, neighbour...except for "bowman is small" What does that mean? Larson is small to, probably the smallest of them all

And Larson is an awesome driver, awesome

NASCAR has purchased ARCA, so after this year there will be nothing but NASCAR.

Very sad as up to 1970 there were four regional series that got print in national racing magazines: ARCA, IMCA, NASCAR and USAC. There were also other more local series that were written up in regional rags.

It was in the eighties that NASCAR started to become the neighborhood pimp.

Sad, very sad.

Looks like Mike Joy will be addressing/rolling back the critique of B J McLeod on pit road (quite unusual for FOX broadcasts) this weekend after the tire issue became known.

Truex's issues behind Stenhouse during the last segment and Larson making little progress from the back of the field may be early signs of what may transpire with the rules package.

Is Hendrick the new Roush?

Hendrick hasnt been the same since Ricky Rudd drove for them in the early 90s

Since his departure Hendrick heavily relied on one specific driver crewchief combo. Everham-Gordon and after that Knauss-Johnson

They were never strong team/organization but they had killer combos

Now, that killer combos grew old and grey they do not have anything worth of winning championships

Yates always had horsepower. Penske had discipline. Gibbs had handling. And Hendrick had combos

Harvick has been integral to SHR. While the other cars (with one well known exception) have been competitive, he's overwhelmed them as far as wins, laps led, and championship contention (muddled by the stupid playoff).

Hendrick let Kyle Busch and Keselowski get away within a few years when either would have been poised for their long term. Then they got stuck a couple years ago with an inexperienced lineup, though Elliott may bail them out.

Hendrick have 1 goat that's one it's last legs and 3 extremely marketable talented youngsters. I feel their in good hands if you think longterm.

Yes, Harvick is SHR's leading light. I'm not so sold on Almirola and Suarez, but I do believe they deserve a shot, and Bowyer is erratic af in terms of performance. I hope Harvick ends his career with 3 Cup championship; he deserves them.

In terms of top drivers right now in the Cup I'd make this Top 5: Harvick, Kyle B, Truex, Keselowski, Logano.

I think I was harsh on Bowman. He made the final 12 last year and did it through consistent top ten finishes and points gathering rather than one fluke win. He did ok really didn't he?

Aaand it’s the usual Harvick dominance so far.

On a different note, it’s kind of scary how quickly I got used to the 48’s new identity in the post-Lowe’s era. I suppose it helps that the car looks much better on track than in the first renders we saw.

As far as its driver is concerned, as a huge Johnson fan I feel comfortable saying that his glory days are over. I’m kind of hoping for one or two more wins at Daytona, Talladega or Martinsville over the next two years, but I’ve totally given up on any more standout playoff campaigns, or even erratic contender status on the 1.5m tracks. I don’t think the 48 ever really got to terms with the Camaro, and they’re still struggling. On a good day the 48 is a top-10 worthy car, on the bad days they get lapped twice.

Let’s just say that if things continue as they are, I don’t see Johnson in a cup car in 2021.

Penalties for the 3 and 42 for “too many men over the wall.”

Read: the guy who leans over the wall touched the ground in the pit box. It’s an amusing rule if nothing else, I suppose.

Other than that, nothing major that I can recall.

But as they said, it's ridiculous that the guy was even close. It's a hard rule, so stupidity on the teams at fault.
