According to Motorsport Italy (so probably fake news, duh) the engine is exceeding expectations on the test bench.

 

 

The data that the technicians are collecting in the bench tests indicate that the power unit will be able to benefit from a better engine cooling system that will be able to work on different parameters to attack Ferrari's supremacy. A German consultant has come to help Andy Cowell.

 

And then the rumors, the previews and the chatter about the simulations of the top teams chase each other: Mercedes would have reached data higher than the project forecasts set by the technical director, James Allison.

 

Among other things, to the Cowell staff, a German engineer specialized in new materials and chemistry who would have identified the weak points of the Mercedes F1 M10 EQ Power + would have been added with a consultancy contract, helping to change some operating parameters of the power units that, in bench tests, would testify to a renewed competitiveness.
