We had so much fun we kept it going at The Bend for a second dinner (or third depending whether you count the Friday night one at the SCC) and track day/group Elfin photo (by our John Lemm)

You should drop into Trevallyn with that first pic of John, James...

Geoff would like to see that.

The bloke at Trevallyn made the head on that engine-- one of only two cast-iron downdraughts Geoff did; the later ones were alloy.

That 400 is gorgeous and it seems he is starting to get the hang of driving it too.

For mine the best Elfin of the meeting with a lot of other contendors

I was playing the role of 1st time passenger test pilot - I was expendable, compared with the likes of say, Goldie's better half!

Are there any shots of the Globe V8 engine bay, please? From any source. We had shots of the engine and narrative years ago, but with the engine free standing., and there is a detailed mag article about the engine which we have seen .
Ever optimistically...

Isn't it a mere Ford now?

I feel sure the quad cam heads went by the board. But I'd be happy to be wrong.

Good, I’m glad to hear that he’s offering to take passengers. Where do we line up?

That bloke in the yellow hat "Jimmyed" the lock and is using race cars for prison escapes.

Beware. Just look at that determination...

Roger, over the years I have kept a sharp look out for any photos of the Globe V8 engine installed in the Globe Elfin 400.
The attached magazine pic from Racing Car News is the only photo that I have ever seen of the in - car installation.
Incidentally all efforts to trace the original Globe V8 engine have failed and we have run out of any new leads.

The Globe Elfin 400 car has been brilliantly restored by Mark Goldsmith and is now competing in local historic events with the push rod motor.
See Facebook. thread.

As long as he's not using wheel bolts...

Like I said, easier to work on, more fun to drive, less expensive.

James, you really must make a visit to Trevallyn soon.

I don't think he gets out much these days.
