“Turrini reported that the latest indications from the data are more comforting (2020 Ferrari). Ferrari still haven't found what they are aiming for but there is still time.”
interesting comments, but why would they be so open over the progress of their car, esp when Mercedes and Red Bull can see for themselves?

 Sounds like an episode of Drive to Survive

Another article claiming that Ferrari managed to fix the early teething issue with the car... https://www.essentia...ign-of-the-car/

Also motorport it reports that the target for this year is between 0.5s - 0.8s faster that last year ... which to me seems a bit conservative, I would expect this year's car to be around 1s faster than last year.

On average, how faster were Mercedes than them last season?

Depends. Qualifying less than a tenth. Race was certainly much more.

It's worth remembering that Ferrari's main issue in the race was the extreme deterioration in tyre performance. They'd be okay for a lap or two and then degradation would hit them extremely hard.

The article says that the plan is to develop the car and make it 0"5/0"8 faster over the course of the season, not that it will be 0"5/0"8 faster than the SF90 out of the box.

It's like every winter testing with Ferrari...except before winter testing has even begun. We're going through all the usual phases without even having seen the car.

Perhaps they've built a monster and are now downplaying expectations through the media, the Mercedes tactic.

So psyched! Let's do this!!!
