It does!  And it is almost a biplane, with what appears to be an extended rear deck spoiler (?) - presumably this helps contain the turbulence at the rear of the car, which otherwise might interfere with the low pressure area underneath the mainplane.  I wonder if this will be the race configuration - I haven't noticed this arrangement on other cars.

Overall, I think I like the shape better than the earlier photos (renderings?) circulated.

Why is the wing so enormous?

And let me get this straight: so Supercars this year will see a Ford coupe v sedans from Holden and Nissan?

Yep - and the Nissans don't even have official factory backing....

I think they opened the rules up to 2 door cars when the latest rules came in. Which also allows for turbo engines.

The article talks about a camouflage livery, but they haven't done a very good job on that rear wing. I had to check it's not April 1st.

Is there a balance of performance in Supercars?

To an extent.

New cars are homologated. This new Mustang will be adapted to have similar straight line speed to the Holden and Nissan and similar levels of downforce.

But during the season itself, there is no BoP (I think). So it's vital for Supercars to get the cars similar pre-season.

Well if Penske and Ford have done their homework as you'd expect....you could say it's one way of winning ugly! it looks bloody awful!! it makes Gerd Ruch's DTM Mustangs almost pretty :)

No, but I understand we might see a ('Holden'?) Camaro in the not too distant future.
