The track was very unsuitable for overtaking. Tight chicanes with walls don't get much overtakes done.
This I agree with. The Gen2 car looked fast enough on the fast parts of the track, having such tight chicanes should no longer be necessary. I’m pro-FE remaining on street circuits, but that doesn’t mean they need to be like kart tracks.
It is a bit odd how teams go from zero-hero-zero-hero.
Addressed this earlier.. that’s not really the case. There is still a general pecking order, but because the field is reasonably closely matched and the race weekend is compact if a particular team goes the wrong way on set up or software or a particular track doesn’t suit their car it’s likely to have a bigger impact.
The qualifying system is sh*t.
In what way? I definitely like superpole, you get to see the full lap of the top six so you don’t miss anything. The group stages do often penalise the championship leaders but that should mean more overtaking in the race.
