The car looks visibly a lot faster here than in previous years; it's very pleasing to see.

Edit: Imateria beat me to it

Really looking forward to qualifying!

Hmmm stay at work and watch it on the laptop or hope they put it up on Youtube quickly afterwards and watch at home?

Wife's throwing some stupid party, so I'll have to watch the recording later... there will be one of the full race, yes?

They do upload full races on youtube, but it's usually with a whole week of delay.

The Ad Diriyah race went up after only a couple of days.

I'll watch the quali on replay, before the race!

Have fun, and if you have trouble watching, type "Reddit Motorsport" on google

As usual, I have absolutely no idea who will be on pole today. Not a clue.

JEV will be whinging again.

Unless he drops down below the top 6 or so he’ll be whinging all season long!

Everyone is in the same boat, only those who can put together the most complete, consistent package will prevail with this system.

Tuning in for quali. :) Race will be after midnight for me though, so... unsure if I'll be able to catch it live.

A year of Eurosport Player and a year of F1 TV should cover most (minus Indycar and Supercars) of my motorsport needs for the season I guess.

I think this system is much fairer than the random groups, and if it means the championship leaders are penalised and have to do some overtaking then so be it.

Only alternative i can think of would be 30 mins free for all, then top 6 proceed to superpole.

And suddenly, a lesser-spotted Rowland appears. Such an open championship.

Vandoorne fighting the car all the way through that first section. Looked dreadful even from outside. :|

Really mad group session as usual, you can see how much a small mistake can cost you.

Just tuned in, where did Massa find that speed? And when will Vandoorne stop, he looked better in F1.

Impressive from Rowland and Wehrlein. Hope they stick around and establish a presence here. New younger names is good news.

Yeah, I agree. Adds a naturally fair handicap to the championship leaders, so if you want to stay up top you have to execute all weekend.

I want to see my championship leaders fight to stay there, not be handed an advantage.

Massa was second in practice 2, and Vandoorne's car looked undrivable.

Impossible to predict who's going to be fastest after SuperPole, could genuinely be any of these 6.

Gonna be interesting with Sam Bird coming from the back, and a lot of ex-F1 drivers at the front. Open track, so should be a cracker.

How long to the start (yes, bringing in the classic Indycar thread question here :D )? Is it at 10 or 11pm GMT?
