It seems to be coming in and out every few seconds or minutes - this looks a bit different to the previous problems.
Our developers are trying to figure out what's wrong...
This failure mode seems to differ from the previous regular crashes. In the previous failures the search engine would apparently work, but then say it had found 0 results. Now, for me anyway, when asked to find something the search engine just freezes, showing a blank white screen.
Can you let me know if you're still seeing that? Can anyone else let me know if that's happening?
When it's not working for me, I'm just seeing the classic "no results" message...

Working for me now but earlier when I tried, I got loads of page spooling and then a 504 error. Using Chrome if that helps.

I got the same white screen as yesterday when I tried earlier this morning. However, I’ve just tried another couple of searches and it all worked OK. I’ll keep checking on it.

In an attempt to figure out what's wrong, I've noticed some odd behaviour.e
If I search for something, I get no results. If I try again from the same search box, no results. If I then click on the Autosport logo to navigate to the forum homepage and then click "see new posts" or do a search, it seems to work.
Does it do that for anyone else?

I'm seeing something similar, Simon. If I use the 'search topic' link for a word I know is in this topic - e14's 'contect' typo in the OP for example - I get no results. Switch to the main search and look for the same word and it seems to fix itself.
That's on Waterfox on both W7 and W10.
ETA - same behaviour on Firefox on W7.

Using Chrome from a desktop, I've tried 'search topic', main search, wider searches etc. All is working fine for me at the moment.

Update - it looks like we've had something (a search engine or archiver, maybe) crawling the forums rather aggressively and that's been causing problems.
This has caused the biggest problems at 9:00 PM to the 9:00 or 10:00 AM every night (UK time). Does that line up with everyone's experiences?

I think that this is all fixed now.
Let me know if you see any more problems!
