Can anyone confirm there was a race meeting at Lowood on this date please.

A photo surfaced on Bob Williamson's "Old Motor Racing Photographs - Australia" taken by Brier Thomas with 2 Lotus Elevens in it, one of which is 538 the 2nd car carrying the no. 10  The other car is driven I think by Johnny Martin or Don Swanton. If date correct then according to Marc Schagen's book it would be Don Swanton.

There appears to be no race report for a meeting at Lowood for the 30th October 1960 with the references I have been able to access.

I would like to include this meeting in 538's file if it is correct - I am sure Brier wouldn't have made an error but I would like a 2nd reference to it if possible.

Here is a link to the photo.

I thought I already posted this...

This would be just four weeks after Brian Muir drove it at Bathurst, right?

Looking at the photo gives me cause to remark that it looks like John Martin in the lead car...

Marc records him as having raced it from December onwards, but with Muir driving it at Bathurst it might just be possible that Corcoran was keen to sell the car and that the entry at Lowood could have seen a switch in drivers after the printing of the programme.

AMS doesn't carry a report on this meeting, unfortunately, so it's up to any mentions in Autosportsman or newspapers to see if there's any verification of this.

Ray, this meeting is before Autosportsman evolved. It was still beong published as the shortlived Light Car Club of Australia club magazine 'The Australian Light Car' that tended to  focus on LCCA related stuff and the odd feature.

I did have a quick glance the other day for a report in an SCW. But failed to spot anything.

The 16 April 1961 Lowood race programme may have a brief report. I think that was the next meeting held after the October 1960 meeting. But that's a gap in my collection.

So if anyone reading is aware of a magazine race report for October 1960 or have the April 1961 programme, please enlighten.
