For 2019 we're trialling a new team threads policy to see if we can improve the quality of discussion regarding F1. Previously, we had a car thread and a vs thread for the drivers. Other business for the teams tended to fall outside those two subjects, and often polluted either of those threads. But mostly, the vs threads have been over-confrontational and led to problems.

With this in mind our new policy will be to have a technical thread focused on the car as before. But its counterpart will be a wider ranging personnel thread which will include discussion of race drivers (you may keep score if you so wish), test drivers, team principals, other staff, sponsors and basically anything other than the nitty-gritty of the car and its technical capabilities.

The mod team hopes that this change will make for a more natural place to discuss what have previously been OT discussions when a standalone thread has not really been merited. However, for big news which will generate a lot of comments, new threads will always be welcome.
