Personally, i never associated the word " business " with mindless, borderline idiotic behavior but maybe that's just me.

Just you Spock. The rest of us are human.

Do we really need to overexaggerate that much? What would you call what e.g. Magnussen has been doing, then?

Talking of Haas, I think they can surprise everybody this weekend, given their last year's form in Albert Park and some predictions stating they're leading the midfield at the moment, ahead of Renault.

Sorry, was i being too rude to poor Seb? I forgot that everything was warm and fuzzy at the red camp now, they've got rid of all the people that were really causing problems, and now everybody is happy again, flowers are blossoming, birds are singing and everybody is ready to rejoice in winning again. Or not.

Motorsport magazine is for old people.  That's not news.

Something like a drifting event has a much younger demographic, for example.

Yes go watch the drifting and leave F1 to us mature folk.

That F1TV team is atrocious, during winter testing, none of them knew what green tail lights on Albon's car means, they were laughing at each other on their ignorance like low teen school boyz and gals, you can have fun boasting your ignorance in teens but over teens it's just naive, puerile and embarrassing. Also when McLaren was running a version of onboard camera around airbox they said mclaren is running horn aero device similar to the one on 2007's. Buxton is only talking about his own imagination, zero clue about both technical and sporting aspects about this sport. Is he going to stay put there? Crikey, the future of F1 in terms of broadcast is hopeless.

Completely agree.

I don't know how anyone can take anything Will Buxton says, seriously.

All the ESPN (Sky) coverage is available streamed no extra charge if you have ESPN on your subscription.  Last season at times even FP2 and 3 were stream only.  The replays seem to disappear during the week following the race or at least it's more difficult to find.  The replays are available almost directly after the live broadcast.

I see Racing Point now have their race car in Oz. Looks pretty different to pre-season testing, especially the 'brackets' for the mirrors....

Get hype, boys and girls. For the next 4.5 hours, anything is possible. Even McLaren could still be world champion (LOL). I'm currently marathoning the the Netflix series, in anticipation of FP1. I haven't felt this much anxiety since 2013, honestly. Not since Lewis first moved to Mercedes, have I felt this much eagerness at season's start. Not even 2014 felt this jittery going into Melbourne. I'd like to say the sporting thing, and "let the best man win." -- but bleep that, let's Fly Silver Arrows! RELEASE THE KRAKEN!

Does the 3 engine limit for the season apply to the practice sessions?

So according to this, there are still 3 DRS zones (kind of). Its just that, the straight after turns 1/2 and the home straight share the same detection zone.

The zone after turn 12 added from last year remains.

Just to let you know... :)

Yes, you can only use 3 engines for the whole season, so everyone will have brand new engines for FP1 and will try to keep that same engine for 7/8 race weekends - that's the idea anyway.

In few hours a season for some teams begins  and for some ends when they see the fricking gap to top. Hope I dont need to write I am looking forward to RS20 after next few hours. Because that's what I am doing ever since 2006.

Imagine yourself going to bathroom just before 2:00 CET, slipping on wet surface and hitting the head on the floor. Waking up Sunday afternoon in hospital. And similar accident 2 weeks later. What whould you think? ;)

It's the same thing every year. We get way too excited for FP1, then it begins, nothing happens for 40  minutes, then like 10-15 laps from your favorite team, then it's over. :)

I always sleep through Aus FP1. FP2 is when they do a long run and a qualy sim, so I always find that to be the first session to be really worth tuning in for.

So who's staying up for FP? Easy to enjoy for anyone in the right time zone but being in the UK I always find Australia FP hard to catch. I used to be a complete night owl but recently turning the wrong side of 30 I find it harder and harder to catch both sessions each year, but with it the first race weekend of the year I always want to! Think I might catch a bit of FP1 seeing as it's not long away now and record FP2 to watch before work.

Still love the early race starts of Australia and Japan though. Nothing more enjoyable in F1 for me than getting up before everyone else in the house and making a pot of coffee before an early race. I still get confused for some reason with the race start as the clocks go forward on Sunday morning don't they?

Clocks won't move to summertime until a week from now. I guess this season starts one week early from the usual?

See how easily confused I am by all this :p

Pleased to now realise they're not happening on the same weekend. One less thing to worry about and a proper 4:30am wake up time will be in order on Sunday

I can't believe how excited I am for FP1. I don't think I've reached this level of anticipation in all of 2018. The last time I watched a practice session is sometime around 2008 and that was FP2 at the earliest.

Do you think cars will flood the track at the green for FP1? Or will teams let the Williams be the track sweepers?

Listened to BBC preview and they were saying that Hamilton seemed to be in a bit of a mood and wasn't very talkative. Leaving the press pen without speaking to Jennie Gow.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if Jack Nicholls and Jolyon Palmer end up having a proper fight at some point this season.

You sound like you're in the same boat as me... Excitement alone pretty much keeping me up. I'll be happy with a half hour, if I can manage it.

Erm be safe!!! Missing an FP1 race isnt worth risking not watching the race.
