Everything is pointing to the design team being well aware of the area's where large steps were needed, so unless they miss something, or bake a fundamental issue into the design, we should see a reasonable step in performance from this new car. If Renault can take another step with their PU as well, then, could be interesting.

Oh, please, no U-word in this thread. Not again.

Since fuel allocation is fixed race pace is largely about tyre life. The top cars are much more balanced, carry more downforce and slide less. Last year Mclaren did not drive to the max potential of the car during races on most occasions as they clearly knew there was no point stressing the tyres and risking reliability with the top six cars so far out of the reach. A top six car starting from the back could still comfortably be in top six by the middle of the race. I hope that changes this year where hopefully we will have enough pace to keep them behind.

There’s a photo doing the rounds (taken at MTC) of the 34 with various parts missing. It’s making me think the launch car will have some older parts on it (and this is the donor car). Could be wrong of course.
Certainly not the 5 wheels ?

I've seen a shot of a 34 with no halo and an early season front wing missing most of its upper elements
Yeh, that's the one.

He'll need to grow some pubes first. So far I haven't seen the killer instinct in him, more like a boy fighting with men.
Personally, I quite enjoyed him putting Leclerc in his place in Brazil after the swipe.
Norris has the fire, it just needs to come out more often.

MCL35 Concept Liverys
I hope they lose much of the black. I doubt that will happen though as all teams have gone that way in a nonsensical attempt to hide their aerodynamic appendages for 5 minutes...
Ideally I'd like to see something like a Gulf liveried Le Mans sports car design (albeit in McLaren's orange and blue tones). Even though Orange is McLarens corporate colour, it doesn't need to be the main colour in terms of real estate.

I want to do the opposite and make the car fully black like how Ron Dennis wanted it.

I don't know.
But it was really funny last year the launch when he lost his mind over invitation.

Might give some hints on what the F1 livery will look like.

Looks like more black then and a lot less blue...I'm underwhelmed to be honest and hope the F1 car is a bit more dynamic...

Yeah it looks a bit back marker-ish. Would be a shame if they go with the same livery for their F1 car, especially as I really liked last year's livery.

It's not bad, but I also hope the F1 car has more blue. This is too much like the old Orange Arrows for my taste.

black is the color of the title sponsor ArrowI don’t expect the new f1 car to have as much black, the black on the IndyCar is for the previous teams guise..

Some stuff will be present on the F1 car 100% sure like the numbers style and those lines (serrated) transitioning from the orange to the black on the sidepods. Just hope the wings and nose are not black Hope it's just an ARROW thing.

Would look far better if one car had blue wings and black rear-wheel covers, and the other black wings and blue rear-wheel covers.

Im not indy car expert, why there is difference between sponsor logos on the cars?
It is pretty common with American race teams that each car has different sponsors. For example, I don't think I ever seen matching NASCARs. In Indy car I only recall that larger, professional teams like Ganasi, Penske and Forsythe had cars looking the same. I think American sponsorship is more connected to the drivers profile than the teams compared to Europe.

The other reason is that Indycar was never ruined by an avaricious little man with OCD who couldn't stand anything out it's appointed place (appointed by him, of course)

Are you suggesting Ron Denis is the sole reason MacLaren is what it is now?

He was the boss. He could have changed something. He hired Zak Brown...

Wait... weren't we talking about liveries and logos? Ron is the culprit of F1 teams not running different liveries for each car like they do in the US? What?

Black, might be more dominant if ARROW rise its involvement in F1.
But I recognized that the video shown on McLaren site, shows the car with lighter tone of orange.
in the mean time, Carlos is preparing to knock down the Ham...

These F1 car launches are utterly pointless unless showing off new sponsors or new livery. They might might as well use last year's car for this purpose as they strip all new aero from the car until day one of testing.
Eh! Their point is filling the void. That is why you are talking about F1 after all!
