So this stuff is getting a bit of traction on social media and I think it could be something cool.

F1, IndyCar and NASCAR drivers have been posting on social media some criptic posts with pins, blurried letters and captions like "I'm in!" or "let's ****ing go!". Doing a bit of research I found this Instagram account called "rufus_legacy" https://www.instagra...m/rufus_legacy/

The "entry list" appears to be:

Jimmie Johnson

Fernando Alonso

Kurt Bush

Clint Bowyer

Tony Kaanan

Brad Keselowski

Sebastian Bourdais

Chase Elliott

Simon Pagenaud

Daniel Ricciardo

Aric Almirola

Josef Newgarden

Valteri Bottas

Kyle Busch

Ryan Hunter-Reay

Max Verstappen

Kevin Harvick

Will Power

Kimi Raikkonen

Martin Truex Jr.

Alexander Rossi

Sebastian Vettel

Joey Logano

Scott Dixon

Lewis Hamilton

[I would do a quick introduction of what each of those won but it would be WAYYYYYYY to long]

They also have a website, but it contains pretty much 0 informations https://www.ruf.us/

The website's domain however is kinda interested as it is owned by no less than IndyCar driver JR Hildebrand.

You can check Alex Rossi and Fred Nando LeManso's Instagram accounts for posts related to this.

What do you think?

Reminds me of the secret championship for pro race drivers at the end of ToCA Race Driver. I’m sure Ryan McKane is ****ing in.

Is this a Champion Spark Plug thing?  Like 500pts for winning a GP, 400pts for winning an Indycar and so on?

I get this sense this will either be a revelatory event or a total flop.

I'm thinking a driver led rather than promotor led Race of Champions...

My initial thought.

But hey ya never know.
And I like the RUFUS moniker, whether Parnelli or Wainwright.

Alonso would have exactly 0 chances of winning in this by not racing in F1, IndyCar (apart from the Indy 500) or NASCAR.

Might be fun, but a "World Driving Championship" with 18 of the 25 drivers taken from two US-based series, little representation of WEC, and none of F2, SuperFormula, WTCC etc... and isn't there already something called a World Drivers' Championship?

Someone drag up that “REAL World Drivers Championship” thread.
