I think today's qualifying reflects quite well the overall performance of the teams...more or less the teams are in right order and I think tomorrow's race we shall see Haas once again dropping behind as 2nd worst team.

Overall Alfa needs to understand how to make the car work better on ALL different tyre compounds on different tracks/different conditions....they really lacked the consistency this year that is so imporant in midfield battle especially.

Overall the car is definitely not bad, but it all seems to come down to getting best out of tyres in every race weekend.

This is just nuts - even in the last race not able to get the tyres working..

No points, but Kimi drove a good race and beats his team mate by over 43 seconds difference

Shame that car was do poor after summer break. Today Kimi again showed hes still class driver, car was just too slow to get points. Beating teammate who qualified ahead by over 40s is quite a margin.

Hopefully for next year Alfa is able to build a car that is more consistent on different tyres/different tracks.... from midfield teams aside from Mclaren, Racing Point, Toro Rosso and even Renault were not that far off overall this season that beating them would be impossible.

Kimi made some mistakes, otherwise it was rather good season from him and ofc he brought most of those valuable points to the team, as was expected. Gio showed already that he can be even faster in qualifying speed but he needs to be more consistent in races. Fully deserves 2nd season though after a difficult first half he managed to improve quite a bit.

I believe there were races they could score some good points (e.g Belgium, Singapore etc) but bad luck and silly mistakes didn't allow it. But yeah, in some races the pace was really bad.

There were many ups and downs during the season. 

I hope for a good work during the winter break so the team can be able to fight for points in every race the next season.

I would love to see a better car for Alfa, so that Kimi can at least constantly be in the points! I don't dare dreaming of podiums, but it would be nice to see him often in the points at least.

Theoretically you should compensate for that time being able to run softer tyres and push a bit more.

Simone Resta leaving during the summer has hurt the team immensely.

This team was at rock bottom and very nearly died in 2016 and has now been rebuilt into a credible midfield force; how about giving them some credit for that.

Ye that is true, they have atleast taking big steps from that year and managed to rebuild themselves as midfield team. Just that ofc now after they have finished 8th two seasons in row, ofc next year they would have to make some progress and be more competitive overall throughout the season and not have as big drops in performance as they had this season. If I remember correctly, Vasseur had set them ambitious goal to be even 4th best team this season and obviously they were far from that...

But now that Giovinazzi has more experience, hopefully both drivers would be able to get points right from the start of the season next year...ofc Simone Resta leaving had/is going to have some effect next year as well, but as they say team cant rely entirely on one man. Anyhow if they again finish up 8th (let alone worse) next season, then it would be even more of a failure, though Idk how realistic it is to expect things to change much next year considering what happens in 2021. But anyhow with more consistency Alfa could have challenged for 7th or even 6th place in WCC, so it should not be entirely unrealistic to expect better position from them next year.

As a Kimi fan I enjoyed this season. Many great moments like Bahrain race, Spa Q, Germany, Hungary. And then some not so great like Monza Q, Sochi start etc. It was good that he managed to end the season on a high note (Brazil, AbuDhabi races were pretty good).

 

Funny thing is that he had only 12 points less than in 2014 in a Ferrari...

Ouch, not good news at all about the 2020 Alfa:

The chassis got COMPLETELY destroyed in FIA's crash test and now that Alfa has to do radical changes to their car, it will set back development atleast one month....

Dont know what kind design they have tried, but its quite unusual that the chassis gets destroyed like that, usually in my understanding cars pass these tests quite easily...
