They suspected that 2nd week of testing, supposedly tried to make those upgrades work later on, but we don't know if they succeeded (only this week Vasseur confirmed they didn't) cause they are giving away close to none info about whats happening on the technical side. All we need is one more wrong turn in development and they could officially move the focus on next years car.

Funny thing is maybe they should, they moved focus on this years car last june and started performing well on track.

Kimi made a silly mistake but other than he was very impressive (if that word can be used from a driver who drives that POS...) Way more faster than Giovinazzi who seems to be nowhere in races. Nice overtake on Perez.

Ord did Antonio have some issues?

If it keeps going like this for the rest of the season, I can see Kimi retiring and not see out the second year of his contract.

It will not affect on that, he will continue for sure.

Yes, Kimi was like half a minute in front of Antonio. Whole weekend the gap was about half a second/lap.

This is one of the teams that impressed in testing, but have been a major let down in the races, just like Ferrari. It's sad to see Kimi so down in the middle field...

How high were the expectations on Giovinazzi??

Guess those races put in perspective kimi still being a very good driver and of course better than average ones. It was unfair to judge him just because he was unable to beat alonso or vettel.

Bit of a let down this year so far. But somehow not as painful as the early part of last year when Kimi put up a pretty good fight for poles etc..all those nearly occasions.
I guess not having my hopes up for much this year has lessened the pain.

Gio was on for a lap like Kimi's in q1 but blew it in sector 3 with a lockup.
Still wouldn't write him off, he was quicker than Kimi most of the 2nd half of Baku race.

With Ferrari sort of admitting that their car concept is the wrong one, if they're talking about their front wing concept, then it looks even worse for Alfa who have an even more extreme version of Ferrari's front wing.

yep, my feeeling too. Actually I think Alfa, (and everyone else really), should just go and copy Red Bull. They have the best aero/chassis every year and seem the best car to drive. Right now we are behind everyone except Williams.

Since it's McLaren it's not that reassuring. Quite the opposite, they've done horribly the last few years considering their budget.

If it would be Mr Newey himself, then it's a good sign.

Btw is the chassis written off? Can Kimi actually test tomorrow? Any news?

Read they expect the car to be ready for Kimi to test, after a long night of repairs.
