Haas finally managed to convert their qualifying speed in to good race pace. Magnussen jumped to the front of the WDC as the previous leaders had a difficult weekend. Sainz took his second podium in a row and that's starting to show in the standings. Kvyat got his first podium of the year and Albon continues to score points consistently. The Renault boys failed to impress at Barcelona, even if Ricciardo did score an extra point for the fastest lap. It's still all to play for as the situation seems to change wildly race by race. Expect of course for the two unfortunate souls who have ended up driving the Williams.

We should really be talking about Class B as the battle between RBR and Ferrari, and Class C as the rest of the grid. Mercedes are now in an entirely different category.

I was thinking about the same.

RBR vs Ferrari - CLASS 1,5

VER 1 2 2 2 1 = 106
VET 2 3 1 1 2 = 101
LEC 3 1 3 3 3 = 87

GAS 4 4 4 4 4  = 61

Ferrari 188

Red Bull 167

Verstappen leading Vettel by a very small margin.

Surprising really. My initial thought would be that Max has done a far better job so far than Vettel, so a five point gap seems so small. But I guess I just add more weight to Max' performances subconsciously because of the car.

With 1-4, you only get 1 (FL) -12-15-18-25 points in this system. ;)

I think if anybody should be in a class of their own it's Renault and McLaren. Red Bull and Ferrari are not being held back by budget from competing with Mercedes, and Renault/McLaren should have space between themselves and the non manufacturer teams.

Ah right. Forgot that even a poor weekend ensures 12 points if they finish. See Gasly for example.

McLaren v Haas I expect over the course of the season for it, Racing Point are gonna struggle as long as Stroll is qualifying so badly and their upgrades this weekend didn't seem that impressive.

Alfa have a similar issue in that only one of their drivers is consistently good.

Renault I expect will come good at some stage, they have the drivers so it's definitely the car causing them issues.

Toro Rosso is an interesting one, if Honda bring an upgrade at some stage then Albon should get more points, Kvyat is basically the Russian version of Grosjean, either he's super fast or he's costing the team money.

Williams aren't in this, I really hope they get their car somewhere close by the end of the season as I think Russell is much better than he's able to show in that car right now, Kubica im sorry just looks like he's not good enough.
