The use of various emojis in thread titles is for some reason blocking my access to the thread contents. No problem on my handheld device, any suggestions?
These are the threads I cannot access. You see the emojis as questions marks, The FE Sanya thread will open. Thanks for any help.

I've removed the emojis from this one:

⚔IndyRivals "Personnel Thread": Dixon Felix, Colton Pato - and other intriguing battles!

Can you check whether this now works? If so, I'll do the others.

I suspect this may be browser-specific; Rob has mentioned IE11, which as I've mentioned previously is increasingly outdated and doesn't conform to the latest standards. Does this happen for anyone on other browsers? I'm not seeing problems on any of Firefox, Waterfox or Chrome.

It now opens without issue. Thank you; if you can edit the others, I'd be most appreciative.

Will do, Brian.

Can you confirm which browser you are using please?

I think this is a related issue (occuring in Firefox/Win7 as well as Chrome/Android):

Using the "Autosport" theme (or "Full Version") of the forum, my notifications won't load in the dropdown list in the upper-right corner. It seems that they stopped loading yesterday when somebody liked a post I made in the "[star emoticon][chequered flag emoticon] IndyCar CLASSIC..." thread.

The emoticons have now been removed from the thread title.
And when using the "Autosport" theme and clicking on My Profile > Likes, I can see my liked posts in the "IndyCar CLASSIC..." thread.
However, when using the "Autosport mobile" theme, and clicking on Notifications in the menu, I see a list of Saved Notifications, including a post in the "[star emoticon][chequered flag emoticon] IndyCar CLASSIC..." thread.

So my guess it that there is some sort of notifications header which still contains the emoticons, and that's why the notifications won't load in the dropdown list?

Problem solved: not really

I switched to the "Autosport mobile" theme,
clicked on Notifications in the menu,
and clicked on Mark All Read at the bottom of the page.

And now the notifications are back to normal again in the "Autosport" theme. No they're not. Because it doesn't try to load the "[star emoticon][chequered flag emoticon]" thread now that it has been marked as read.

Problem is back.

When the list of new notifications was empty it loaded very nicely, but as soon as I got a new notification (for this thread) it stopped loading again.

Problem solved (for now):

I switched to the "Autosport" theme,
clicked on my user name > "My Profile",
clicked on "Edit my profile" (in the upper-right corner of the page),
clicked on "My Notifications" (in the menu on the left),
marked the notifications on the first page (some of which had previously included emoticons),
clicked on "Delete Selected" at the bottom of the page.

And now the notifications are back to normal again in the "Autosport" theme.

I've been having the same problem, followed your rectification advice and hey presto. Seriously weird. Thanks ANF

I now have a huge urge to rebel the rules by opening up a thread with ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and see if it crashes for someone.

Sorry for the late reply Vitesse2 but out all day.

All topics now open OK for me too.

Also, as a backup to my favoured IE11, I do have Chrome :smoking:
