Always interesting to follow this championship. The winter edition had the likes of Ticktum and Rinus Veekay battling with all the subsequent drama.

This season we see Red Bull junior (and son of..) Jack Doohan participating, as well as Jamie Chadwick (the first female British F3 race winner).

Line-up:

Hitech: Ukyo Sasahara, Jack Doohan

Pinnacle: Jordan Dempsey, Tommy Smith

Zen: James Yu

Absolute: Daniel Cao, Eshan Pieris

Super License: Tomoki Takahashi, Yu, Kanamaru

Blackarts: Thomas Luedi, Brendon Leitch, Tom Beckhauser

B-Max: Tairoku Yamaguchi, "Dragon"

M-Sport: Akash Gowda

852: Paul Wong

Seven GP: Jamie Chadwick

Race Calender:

Sepang, Malaysia: 6-7 April

Chang, Thailand: 11-12 May

Suzuka, Japan: 22-23 June

Shanghai, China: 7-8 September

Shanghai, China: 27-28 September

Good recovery by Cao in race 3. It's just a shame we didn't see much of it on screen.

Who is 'Dragon'?

He is Ryuji Kumita, the boss of the Super Formula (and elsewhere) team B-Max, who competes under a pseudonym.

a gentleman racer, but nice to have such drivers in the mix.

I'm not sure, there are many other young drivers in Japan and Asia who deserve to be competing in the series. What he and his whatever backers should be doing is to dig talents in Japan and Asia and give them chance. He is joke racer in terms of sheer competition and quite an embodiment of what's wrong with Asian junior series overall or why it's still immature.

I think that is unfair.  Why shouldn't this guy compete if he wants to?  Why is everyone obligated to use their resources to help young drivers?  It is not as if there is a full grid and he is denying someone a place.

Wot? no Dan Ticktum?

He's doing SuperFormula this year.  Asian F3 proved too hard for him!   ;)
