Looking at the Williams and even the Stewart cars makes you realise how horrible the halo and aero infested 2019 cars look

Someone tell Croft that they don't siesta in Mexico.  It's a Spanish thing.  Mexico ditched the official siesta more than 70 years ago.

I'm with Tim on this one. There was one result therefore one race.

Me too! DSJ in Motor Sport, Cyril Posthumus, in his book The German Grand Prix and Moss, in his book with Nye, referred to two heats. That's no doubt a more descriptive term.

Please ignore Karun, Hamilton did not abort his run. He was just slow.

Hulk only half a tenth off Hamilton, bad lap from the merc or good lap from the Renault?

Please let the top teams really be this close for the weekend... pretty please...

Looks a lot better than Bahrein so far. Let´s hope it lasts.

It looks exactly the same? Top of the midfield 0.8s - 1.2s away?

It looked like he ran wide while the camera was track side in Martin's face.

Hamilton's 2nd sector is half a second off Bottas and in the 3rd sector he couldnt even match his personal best. Certainly bad lap, though doesnt mean that the Renault lap wasnt good of course.

I said the top teams... Not the difference between the top teams and the midfield... :)

Of course would be better if the midfield was closer! But I would already happy with Fer, Merc & RB being close for Qualy and race.

I know, it´s early days, but still.

With Bottas 7 tenths faster than Ham, you can safely say Ham hasn’t done a qualy lap, and from the looks of Ferrari’s pace so far, I highly doubt they have done a proper qualy run either.

Apologies... yes the long corners playing to Red Bull’s strengths.

Don't get me started on that Tom.  Did you see the split screen of the Toro Rosso in the garage?  Two cameras focused on the same car from very slightly different angles!

AHHHH HAMILTON DID A 1:34.2 ON MEDIUMS AND 1:34.0 ON SOFTS, SKY SPORTS F1!!

“Hamilton aborted his run”
“What’s happened to Leclerc?”

Maybe if you didn’t go trackside every damn 5 minutes YOU WOULD SEE THE ACTION IN FRONT OF YOU!!!

You are literally *at the racetrack*. I wouldn’t dream of being this bad at my job. It’s unbelievable.

Thought they were pretty terrible the first 2 races as well. Missing quite a lot of action in both Q and Race...

I know they keep saying they´ll give him time and he´ll improve, but the performance gap stays this big and it is actually costing that much points, I´m not sure how patient they´ll be. Most people expected him to lose to Verstappen, but at least get 6th...

Like with Kvyat, confidence just kept going down and then it´s very difficult to get back up.

On the other hand, they dont really have alternatives...

Long runs are....weird. Loads of traffic according to the radar, but it looks close.

Vettel started on high 38s and now dropped into low 41s. Bottas started with a mid 37, dropped immediately to low 39s and ended on high 39s. Verstappen started on low 39s and ended on high 39s. Hamilton (only one on mediums on first stint) started with a mid 38s and dropped to mid/high 39s.

[AMuS] Mercedes brought a new front wing to Shanghai and have to either modify it or they can't use it. The new front wing does not comply with the regulations in the area of the end plates.

Yes, Max/Bottas/Vettel all on softs, Hamilton on mediums.

Now the 2nd stint has Hamilton on softs, Verstappen on mediums and Bottas/Vettel on hards. Vettel started those way quicker than Bottas. Bottas started with mid 38s and has now dropped to mid/high 39s, Vettel is 3 laps in and still on low 38s. Verstapen on mediums is 4 laps in and consistently at high 38s/low 39s. Hamilton on softs started on mid 38s, dropped for a bit to mid 37s and ended up with mid 39s (that's very inconsistent).

Not true, total fairytale made up by Karun. He just plucked this story out of thin air. Sky Sports were too busy having a trackside chat with Martin to actually watch the quali sims.

Karun has his one car view camera. I was watching Martin talk when I saw Grosjean lock up while Hamilton was just behind him.
