Honestly, those who gave up on that race before it got back under green with no good reason really missed out.

I didn't give up. I wasn't allowed to watch it. The delay broadcast on Fox Sports 1 in the USA was set for a time limit that expired not long after the red was completed. So, there was no way for me to watch to the end of the race until Formula e posted the full race on Youtube, a week later.

Great race!

It's also starting from a very low base so if it isn't growing then there's something going very badly wrong.

The series was a joke with the car swapping. I've watched every race this season and I'm enjoying it but it's still so amateur compared to F1. The Helicopter view on lap 1 whilst it could see no cars for example. The cars are still far too slow to be anywhere near the pinnacle.

Another perspective to 'so amateur compared to F1' is, 'F1 is so over produced and sanitized while the rest of the racing world looks like this.' In fact, Formula E resembles Formula 1 of many years ago, without all the murdering of drivers, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I'd say that both cases rather prove my point. Fiddling around with an electric motor is not being a 'manufacturer' in the motor racing sense. Yamaha made F1 engines but no one considers that they were a F1 manufacturer. Still, if you like to pretend that there are a load of different manufacturers all competing in FE, who am I to spoil the fairy tale?

Oh how annoying. Guess it falls under a 'good reason' to have not watched after the red flag live, however frustrating. Glad you've caught up an enjoyed it though!

German ZDF bailed out after what I think was exactly one lap of running after the red flag because of politics and documentary magazines that consist largely/entirely of prerecorded segments. Hence why showing motorsport on our public service broadcasters has always been a terrible idea (and I have about fifteen years of DTM broadcasts to back that claim up), because there is absolutely no way those in charge would ever lower themselves to planning around the complexities of a live event that *isn’t* football.
