The only person more demoralised than us the fans will be Bottas. He had the measure of Lewis all weekend till the final lap of Q and every lap of the race. Wonder if he'll shave the beard and revert to finishing 40s a behind Lewis again like most of last year soon  :|

To be fair it is probably naturally Lewis' strongest track historically. His natural pace at Shanghai is abnormally high. Which makes him almost unbeatable even with a bad setup and preparation for the race.

1/10. After both McLarens were out by freaking Kvyat i was having doubts about this race being merely interesting. After Ferrari for no reason let Leclerc down for 3rd race in a row with him being faster driver in all of them i went back to sleep. And as results showed i didn't miss a thing.

Upd: It was really hard for me to watch russian broadcast as bias towards Kvyat was unbearable. I wonder if anyone having the same problem in their respective countries or it's just local incompetence?

It's like all these cool kids who 'fall asleep' have never seen a boring F1 race before. Not every race will have an action spicing SC or closed pits to artificially randomise the result, etc.

Been following f1 since 1989, been on this forum since the 90s as it still was atlas. I'm no kid nor cool... and yes, there were borefests in the 90, 00s and 10s as well. But somehow this felt worse. It's like emotions are ebbing away lately. I think it's because of the sharp contrast between the hallelujah marketing stuff and the actual stuff going on on track....

Yeah, I mean I sat through every turgid minute of Spain and Hungary '99, the two that are famously held up as the worst races of all time, and I thought China '19 was every bit as dreadful. It was just beige all weekend. Beige Mercedes domination, beige Ferrari team-orders, beige gulf back behind (and between) the Red Bulls, beige midfield 'racing', predictable order of cars trundling round looking unexciting with big gaps between them or team-orders to stop them racing each other. Everything about this race was just dull.

I mean, the Indycar at Long Beach was no classic either and obviously not every race can be a classic, but given all the 'race 1000' hype and stuff this was hardly a celebration of the sport that is F1 - more a painful demonstration of everything wrong with it at the moment.

It was a poor attempt to get a 2nd place (by switching Vettel & LeClerc too late, and then having LeClerc trying to hold up Bottas with way too old tyres) and they threw away a 4th place for that. I call that a bad performance.

People seem to have pinned their hopes of a moderately interesting season on Ferrari doing well, but that seems to be colouring perceptions quite a bit.

Sure, Ferrari's attempt to take 2nd wasn't done very well, but it seemed like it was always going to be a long shot given Mercedes' pace so coming in 3rd and 5th is... not ideal, but worthy of Ferrari being the worst team?

Seems a bit excessive when other manufacturer teams are being lapped.

Best driver: Hamilton, Albon was good.

Worst driver: the Torpedo is back, and it's still not his fault.

Best team: Mercedes

Worst team: Ferrari by a country mile.

Best overtake: Leclerc on Vettel

Best moment: Hamilton 1st into turn one.

DRS + tyres: yep.

I thought it was ok actually- a fair bit of action through the field. Not as good as Bahrain, but miles better than Australia. 7

Yawn. Boring as hell

Another Mercedes 1-2. This is going to kill F1 ratings. Not much point in watching anymore, you already know who will win the season.
