Good morning, my 1st thread and hopefully someone may be able to help.

My father recently passed away but I knew nothing of him my whole life due to his own reasons and disappearing when I was about 2!

So I'm now in touch with someone who had been a friend of his for about 30 years and he's informed me that my dad told him that he worked for Williams F1 as an engineer. This must have been in the 70's somewhere when they were located in Didcot.

Williams won't help me because of their data protection policies so would anyone know how I might find any info about this?

Thanks in advance,

Rick

Sorry to hear about the loss of your father, but without knowing his name I’m not sure how much help we can provide. This earlier thread does contain some info on Williams team personnel in the early and mid-1970s:

There are some books that list Williams personnel but I agree with Tim, without knowing his name, it's hard to help.

Cheers to you both, I didn't leave out his name on purpose, I was wondering if there was any w ay to find out by circumnavigating Williams for now? I have passed the info on to our solicitor so hopefully they might be able to find something out easier than me?

My dad's name was Brian James Mark and was more an engineer of parts than being a mechanic I believe. He also raced motorcycles and sidecars as well and apparently built his own bike/s from scratch.

I hope this helps?
