On Facebook, I stumbled across a photo album of the 1980 On The Streets parade in Birmingham, UK. I was able to ID some of the cars myself but I couldn't ID the rest of the photos. Could anyone help me out please?

The Lola T297 is not listed on the programme notes so we need to find out the driver but Mike Hailwood is driving the Gulf Mirage M2 BRM.

Nigel Dawes is a good friend of Martin Hone who organised the parade so that must be him. But what is the car as I can't find anything?

Who are the sidecar riders/pilots?

I got photos of Andy Grahame and Finn Jensen so who is the Birmingham Brummies rider?

David Ham in his 1958 Lister Jaguar. What about the driver and car behind?

Ford GT40 - Could it be Mike Salmon, Vince Woodman, Lord Ian Lowson, Brian Poole or Mike Dawes?

EDIT>> I have added some more photos I would like anyone to identify please?

A couple of photos from the 1984 Chequer Bitter parade but I can't remember who took the photos but I will find out.

I do apologise, the links works for me as I can access it through my Facebook account.

Guess I will have to upload them into a photo hosting website later after the Monaco Grand Prix. Thank you for letting me know.

The links work for me, but you'll have more luck with people here is you post the actual images here.  Facebook tries to stop people sharing content outside Facebook.

By the way, I was there that day - a very happy Brummie teenager!

What cars and who are the drivers?

The lead car is the Dorset Racing Associates Lola T297, as raced in 1980 at Le Mans and other WSC rounds by the likes of Peter Clark, Nick Faure, Martin Birrane and Nick Mason:

The car behind is a Mirage M2-BRM:

"An Aston Martin?" - Jaguar D-Type

"A Ford GT40 I assume?" - yes!

"An Aston Martin car" - one of 19 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagatos!

"Stirling Moss and Phil Hill were there but they had white helmets. Who is the driver?" The Ferrari (Dino?) driver looks like Willie Green to me.

I believe the first photo is the Ham family’s Lister Jaguar. It was campaigned for many years by David Ham, so it’s probably being driven by him in the Facebook photo. These days it’s driven by David’s son Simon, who posts here as ‘hamsterace’.

An Aston Martin car.

This is Aston Martin DB4GT/0193/R, supplied originally to Jean Kerguen in France in 1962. It was owned between 1973 and 1987 by Aston collector Nigel Dawes, who gave it the personalised ‘ND’ registration and is thus very likely to be the person driving in the Facebook photo.

I have uploaded the photos into Photobucket and added names/cars together with the photos. There are still a few more that need IDing. Thank you once again.

Isn't the second of the Bugatti's the single seater T35 which was owned by Frank Wall and raced by Hamish Moffatt in the sixties and seventies ?

The T297 is being driven by someone with Dickie Attwood's helmet.  So, I'm guessing Dickie Attwood.

Michael Bowler in the pale blue Costin Lister (penultimate photo) I think.

Attwood was certainly due to be there, according to the Autosport event preview. They didn’t mention the Lola, but said he was down to drive a 917.

I’ve just reread the first post now Bigears has edited it. For some reason he has altered the order of the photos so that the Ham Lister Jaguar is no longer the first photo, which means my post about it being the first photo is now wrong, and the D-Type Jaguar which has become the first photo is now miscaptioned.

Similarly, I provided chapter and verse on the Aston DB4GT 6003ND, which he has chosen to disregard.

I was uploading the photos onto Photobucket and edited my original. After a few issues, I couldn't remember the actual order of the photos from my original post. So I went ahead and posted my edited post anyway.  I appreciate your time to find the information about the Lola T297, Nick Ham's Lister Jaguar and Nigel Dawes' car which were very helpful.

I assure you I haven't disregarded your post about the fact it is a Aston Martin DB4GT 6003ND with the fact the programme listed Nigel Dawes with his 'D' Type Jaguar. Even though a driver called Bruce Rankin was listed with his Aston Martin DB4 Zagato. I just want to check from my other sources about the parade with Nigel Dawes' car.

You are spot on with Gerry Walton with the Connaught. I can't find Rod Leach and the Cobra, possibly a late addition?

Please point which one is the Costin Lister? I am not too familar with the car!

Thank you once again.

Yes, Brian Henton in a Toleman TG280.  I remember him breaking into a huge OTT grin when I went to take his picture in the "paddock" - an old market area.

1980 was of course Henton's European Championship winning year .
